Scary Broadway Update


Melanie Brown, known in the pop world as Scary Spice of the group The Spice Girls, will make her Broadway debut as Mimi in "Rent" April 16.

Be nice. Broadway is littered with the remains of acclaimed actresses who couldn't handle the demands of the stage, as well as filled with several examples of those defied all expections, and became great stars.

Moral of the story: Let's wait until she fucks up, then we can say "we told you so!"

And she did have some moves in that "Wannabe" video.

Rent has been around a while.

While trying to revive interest in a fading (but amazing) musical, Broadway tries to recruit potential headline makers. I mean come on...Joey Fatone?

Regardless of current or former pop-star status, one must acknowldge their vocal talent.

I know I have seen Rent a number of times, and each time is gets worse. I hope this can give the cast the boost it needs.
