Mom and Daughter Bitchfight

Candy Spelling is furious at her daughter.

Tori Spelling, now on the cover of Us Weekly, went public with how she "never got to say goodbye" to her dying father, Aaron. "Tori Spelling tells how her mother's betrayal kept the heartbroken star from her father's deathbed," Us Weekly says.

But now Candy is hitting back in a statement issued by her publicist, Kevin Sasaki, saying: "We are deeply saddened that, during our time of loss and grief, we are forced to respond to the media frenzy caused by the meanspirited and surprising comments made by Tori to the press, just two days after the passing of Aaron. As we try to honor his memory with love and respect, the sudden media frenzy she has created at this sensitive time is hurtful and very disturbing. Aaron's legacy deserved pure and unadulterated tribute and recognition which, sadly, has been tainted. Everyone deals with grief in a different way, and since Tori chose not to be here at that time, we believe she is having a harder time dealing with that loss . . . Aaron loved both his children with all his heart, and he understood how hard it was for her."

90210's 10-Year Reunion

With the passing of Aaron Spelling and his prolific TV legacy, the folks at Best Week Ever thought it would be appropriate to remember a show Spelling both co-created and used to introduce the world to the acting talents of daughter Tori: Beverly Hills, 90210.

This seminal high school soap opera took an unflinching look at social issues from gun violence to AIDS to apartheid, all set within the priviliged-but-melodramatic turmoil of America’s most exclusive zip code. Since most of the original cast left the show between 1994 and 1998, Best Week Ever decided to split the difference and celebrate the would-be 10-year class reunion of West Beverly High School with a “then and now” look at some it’s most notable alumni.

Click here to check it out. It's great.

A Different LA

Is Britney Spears ditching California?

The preggers singer, convinced that the lifestyle in Malibu is hurting her battered marriage, is reportedly moving back to her home state of Louisiana, and has been upgrading her mother Lynne’s house so she can stay there.

“She wants to come home,” Harold Smith, mayor of Spears' hometown, Kentwood, said, according to In Touch Weekly. “She’s building more rooms for her growing family. She wants a nursery and some kids’ rooms.”

Spears is spending $200,000 on Lynne Spears’ house and is also looking to buy a second abode so that hubby Kevin Federline can stay there if his mother-in-law gets on his nerves. “He likes Lynne but doesn’t like her getting involved in their relationship,” a source told the mag.

What’s more, Spears has reportedly met with an OB-GYN in neighboring Baton Rouge to discuss having a C-section there when her second baby arrives in September.

Star 2.0

It didn't take long for Barbara Walters to find Star 2.0.

On yesterday morning's "The View", Barbara, Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck strode out onto the stage with an attractive, slender African American woman who took a seat that wasn't even cold yet.

The Star-alike is Renee Elise Goldsberry, who, ironically enough, isn't a lawyer, but plays one on TV. Goldsberry's an actress on the soap "One Life to Live," whose character, according to her online bio, is "a tough-as-nails defense attorney with a compassionate heart." Goldsberry begins her bio by saying she "gives all glory to God for being the author of her biography."

The show went on as usual with no reference to Barbara vs. the fired Star, except when Goldsberry said she "wasn't a lawyer," and wasn't going to get "in the middle of things." Goldsberry added that she just happened to "have nothing else to do" when she was asked to guest host (She has hosted twice before earlier this year).

Who Knew She Was A Poet?

Kate Moss has penned a woeful poem about her on-again off-again lover Pete Doherty's addiction to drugs.

"You love them more than you love me/So that's why I could cry all day long/that's why I can't breathe," the supermodel wrote. A British literary magazine published the poem after finding it in one of Doherty's journals, which he's using to write his autobiography. On one page, Doherty vows to quit drugs if Moss will marry him.

Turn Off Your Phone!

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross had a dream wedding last Saturday with only one major hitch - the groom's cell phone rang in the middle of the vows.

Cross married money manager Tom Mahoney at a black-tie wedding attended by 200 guests in San Gabriel, California. The 44-year-old bride took the interruption in her stride, according to Housewives co-star Brenda Strong, "She couldn't contain her giggles." Mahoney opted not to take the unfortunately timed call and wisely turned his mobile phone off.

The rest of the couple's vows were traditional, but Cross improvised on the script ever so slightly. She explains, "After I said 'I will' to everything, I whispered under my breath, 'As long as I don't have to cook!'"

The bride was remarkably stress-free on her big day, saying, "My hair and makeup people were teasing me because I hadn't told them what I wanted. I figured it would all work out." Cross decided to get changed in a room at the church to avoid the paparazzi, but discovered that the room had no mirror. She adds, "I had no idea what I looked like. I got into my dress, put on my veil and was sent out the door."

Hanks Gets Interesting Honor

Actor Tom Hanks was inducted Thursday as an honorary member of the U.S. Army's Ranger Hall of Fame for his accurate portrayal of a World War II Army Ranger company commander in the movie "Saving Private Ryan" and for his continued commitment to honoring those who served in the war.

Besides his role in "Saving Private Ryan," Hanks was cited for serving as the national spokesman for the World War II Memorial Campaign, for being the honorary chairman of the D-Day Museum Capital Campaign, and for his role in writing and helping to produce the Emmy Award-winning miniseries, "Band of Brothers." Hanks, who was unable to attend the induction ceremony, becomes the first actor to receive such an honor.

Each year, the Army's elite Ranger units and regimental associations nominate a small number of Ranger Hall of Fame candidates, who are then scrutinized by a selection board. All but honorary inductees like Hanks have to be graduates of the Army's grueling Ranger School at Fort Benning, or they have to have served in a Ranger unit. The latest 17 inductees were mostly career soldiers, ranging from generals to sergeants. The only civilian was U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall, whose district is in the middle Georgia, including Macon. Marshall is a decorated Vietnam War veteran, Ranger school graduate and member of the House Armed Services Committee.

Not Surprising

Blaming poor reviews and the commercial tastes of North American audiences, the producer of Toronto's lavish Lord of the Rings musical said yesterday the show will close early and be reworked for its "spiritual home" in London.

Kevin Wallace said harsh critics discouraged a mass audience from coming to the production, an ambitious adaptation of the fantasy trilogy that cost $27 million -- tops for a theatre show. The show opened at the Princess of Wales Theatre to largely negative reviews three months ago.

He said any positive word-of-mouth was no match for published criticisms that emerged from a nearly five-hour preview (delayed by technical glitches) -- criticism that lingered despite revisions that eventually cut the show to under 3 1/2 hours. "The North American sensibility reflects the appeal of commercial theatre in primary colours," Wallace said, adding, the audiences were put off by too much talking.

The show will close Sept. 3. Tickets had been on sale for performances until Sept. 24.

Luke and Laura Return

"General Hospital" is giving fans much to talk about: the reunion of Luke and Laura Spencer, the ABC soap opera's most popular couple.

Genie Francis, who originated the role of Laura nearly 30 years ago, will return to the show -- and to the fictional town of Port Charles -- to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Luke and Laura's wedding, which was seen by 30 million viewers on Nov. 16, 1981, ABC announced Tuesday. Francis, 44, will appear in a series of episodes beginning in the middle of October, the network said.

"I'm very happy to be returning to my `General Hospital' family and look forward to portraying a role that means a lot to me as well as the fans who have supported the character throughout the years," Francis said in a statement.

BabyTime

Mariska Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, welcomed their first child, a son named August.

The baby boy, who was born on Wednesday at 3:21 p.m. in Los Angeles, was a week overdue and weighed in at 10 lbs. 9 oz. "Mother and baby are doing wonderfully," Hargitay's rep, Leslie Sloane, said. "I just talked to her and she is ecstatic – over the moon."

Hargitay, 42, who plays NYPD detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, met Hermann, 38, on the NBC show, where he has a recurring role. The couple wed in Santa Barbara, Calif., in August 2004 in front of 200 guests.

Jess Has A New Man?

Has Jessica Simpson found love?

While her ex hubby Nick Lachey has been linked with her former friend Vanessa Minnello, Simpson is reportedly getting hot and heavy with comedian Dane Cook, her co-star in their forthcoming flick “Employee of the Month,” according to Life & Style Weekly. “Sparks flew” during the filming of the movie over the winter but Cook was still with his longtime girlfriend Racquel Houghton.

Last week, Cook and Simpson “couldn’t hide their feelings” for each other at the Hollywood hotspot Hyde, according to the mag, even though the two maintain that they’re “just friends.”

“They looked like two people trying not to look like a couple but who really wanted to rip each other’s clothes off,” a “witness” told L&S, which also reports that at 2 a.m. the two planned a rendezvous at a gas station.

Denise Moving Out of Neighborhood

Denise Richards is selling the Westlake Village home she bought last year following her separation from Charlie Sheen.

The 7,400-sq.-ft., six-bedroom house that Richards, 35, is leaving also happens to be a just stone's throw from the home of her rival, Heather Locklear. Richards is dating Locklear's ex, Richie Sambora. The couple were first spotted together in April, kissing and holding hands at Westlake Village's Le Café.

Richards (who is seeking part of Sheen's Screen Actors Guild pension, full custody of their daughters Sam, 2, and Lola, 1, and more than $100,000 a month in child support) has already bought a home in a more "kid-friendly" neighborhood near Los Angeles, says a source.

Josh Who?

Tommy Lee got the better of "Las Vegas" hunk Josh Duhamel when the two rumbled at Bella nightclub in L.A. Tuesday night.

A witness tells us the drama unfolded after Duhamel pounded on the men's room door and yelled "Hurry up!" while Lee was inside. "One of Josh's friends said, 'Stop, Tommy's in there,' " reports our spy. "Josh replied, 'Tommy who? Tommy Lee, who cares?' Tommy heard that and came out of the bathroom.

Words were exchanged and Josh ended up on the floor - I don't know if he was pushed or punched. Josh bolted outside and called for Tommy to meet him and 'fight like a man.' Tommy was restrained and sent out the back door by security. Josh never did get to use the bathroom."

Singing About Her Abuse

David Hasselhoff's estranged wife Pamela Bach is reportedly hitting back at the star by recording an album about spousal abuse. The couple has been publicly lashing out at each other since Hasselhoff filed for divorce in January - Bach cited physical abuse, while Hasselhoff made claims Pamela was abusing prescription drugs.

Bach filed a declaration, claiming that in December Hasselhoff "grabbed me and pushed me hard into a car," adding, "In the past, he has also broken my nose."

And, according to British newspaper the Daily Express, Bach will detail the abuse she allegedly suffered during her 16-year marriage on upcoming album Transitions.

Speaking on CNN's American Morning last week, Hasselfhoff denied the allegations, saying, "The only person who broke my wife's nose was a plastic surgeon."

Roddick Says...

Andy Roddick is not a fan of the man purse.

The tennis star has lashed out on his website against the growing English trend. Roddick writes "I have seen some guys walking around with man purses here in London.... anything bigger than a money clip or a wallet is to be left to your girlfriend/wife...and just so we are clear you should not be able to throw your "wallet" over a shoulder...if you have a man purse, the wall is waiting."

While Roddick may have an issue with British style he hasn't let it affect his love of London, saying " I think I feel more at home here than in any other city we travel to."

Roddick, who is in England for Wimbledon, even gives his two cents on Kevin Federline calling him the "Butthead of the Week,"adding "He really did nothing out of the ordinary, but let's be honest, this was inevitable."

Tom Takes High Road

Tom Petty has decided to take the high road when it comes to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Music insiders were shocked when the Peppers debuted their hit song, "Dani California," last month - as we reported, it's eerie similarity to Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance."

But Petty tells Rolling Stone: "I seriously doubt that there is any negative intent there. And a lot of rock 'n' roll songs sound alike. Ask Chuck Berry. The Strokes took 'American Girl' [for their song 'Last Nite'], and I saw an interview with them where they actually admitted it. That made me laugh out loud. I was like, 'OK, good for you' . . . If someone took my song note for note and stole it maliciously, then maybe [I'd sue]. But I don't believe in lawsuits much. I think there are enough frivolous law suits in this country without people fighting over pop songs."

Paris Hilton can't get a break at her family's own hotels. The heiress, appearing on the "Real Radio Breakfast Show" in Scotland, tried on-air to reserve a room in her name at the Glasgow Hilton and get a discounted corporate rate.

But the humorless reservations clerk who identified himself as Kevin turned her down, sniffing: "There is no discount I can initiate, I'm afraid" - insisting she'd have to pay the full $310 for a standard queen-sized room.

Genius!

They were originally designed to simply make phone calls without tying callers to one location. But today's cell phones can do so much more, from snapping digital photos to sending text messages to playing video.

You can add one more feature to the list: a sobriety test.

That's right, cell phones with built-in Breathalyzers are set to hit the U.S. market. So after a night of too much to drink, you can pull out the device to see if you're fit to get behind the wheel. South Korean manufacturer LG will introduce the LP4100 this year. The company placed several models on the market in that country last year and already has sold more than 200,000 units.

The phones were previewed at the annual Consumer Electronics Show — CES — in Las Vegas earlier this year. Here's how it works: Users blow into a small spot on the phone, and if they've had too much to drink the phone issues a warning and shows a weaving car hitting traffic cones. "So they test it and it says don't drive so they leave their car or call the taxi," explained Sung Mee Cho of Seju Engineering Inc.

The company also sells plug-in Breathalyzer adapters for some phones. None of the models tell you exactly how much you may be over or under the legal limit, but it can keep you from making other alcohol-related mistakes.

The LP4100 also allows users to set up the phone so on certain nights and after a certain time they do not call certain people in their phone book. Think ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend. If you have a blood alcohol level over .08, the phone will not let you dial that person. So it not only promotes sobriety, but chastity — and probably your dignity, as well.

Odd Couple

Rush Limbaugh, who recently ran into some trouble for possession of unauthorized Viagra, has been dating actress Mary-Lynn Rajskub, better known as “Chloe” from 24.

Tongues were set wagging after photographs were taken of Limbaugh affectionately kissing Rajskub during a recent event at the Heritage Foundation. Rajskub, who in the past has been romantically linked to the decidedly liberal likes of David Cross and Jon Brion, is as odd of a match for Rush as one could likely make.

Hootie Helps

Hootie & the Blowfish will launch a 10-city concert series Monday in Nashville to help collect school supplies for children.

Ticketholders are encouraged to bring school supplies to shows in the Homegrown Concert series. The supplies will be donated to each community's public school system.

The group started the event in Charleston, S.C., in 2003, and the next year expanded it to other cities in the Carolinas. This year, they're visiting cities in Pennsylvania, Texas, Alabama and Florida.

Tori Spelling told People she had a "reconciliation" with her TV mogul-dad Aaron just before the stroke that led to his death. B

ut Canadian gossip Shinan Govani says the claim seems odd because the blond heiress-actress had been in Toronto all week "doing nonstop media for her reality show, picking more fights with [her husband's ex-wife] Mary Jo Eustace, and was spied here until at least Friday afternoon." Aaron died Friday night.

Among the places Tori was seen was at a local Starbucks, a popular pub called Betty's, and the Four Seasons Hotel.

Huh?

Nicole Kidman wasn't married to Tom Cruise...at least according to the Catholic Church in Australia.

Many around the world were scratching their heads this past weekend, trying to figure out exactly how Kidman was able to get married as a Catholic in a Catholic ceremony, as the Church does not allow for a second marriage (in the Church) after a divorce. Many assumed that Kidman had gotten her marriage to Tom Cruise annulled, which would technically have paved the way for a second marriage in the Church.

Well, not so fast. Kidman's marriage to Cruise lasted 10 years -- a little long to plead temporary insanity -- and considering how notoriously difficult it is to have the Church grant an annulment (they're not handing them out like communion wafers), Kidman may have figured out how to get around the requirement -- she reportedly didn't need an annulment at all.

The BBC is reporting that Kidman's 10-year union to Cruise wasn't recognized by the Catholic Church of Australia. The service was seen only as a legal ceremony and not a spiritual one. In other words, according to the Catholic Church anyway, it never happened. All Kidman had to prove was that it was dissolved legally and she was free to marry any country crooner she wanted. A loophole to be sure, but one that allowed Kidman to reconnect her Catholic faith with Keith Urban, the man she loves.

Cassidy Steals Role

7th Heaven actress Katie Cassidy, 19, has beaten out Jessica Simpson and Kristin Cavallari for the role that they were both up for in the new Dallas movie (also starring J. Lo and John Travolta’s enormous head). Cassidy, who is the daughter of former teen idol David Cassidy and most recently starred in the film Click, will play the character Lucy Ewing.

“Producers wanted to steer clear of the drama and also thought Katie was simply better for the role,” a source tells Us Weekly.

Jennifer Lopez, who has been cast as alcoholic Sue Ellen, reportedly didn’t want Simpson, 25, as a costar in the upcoming big-screen version of the television series. “She’s hoping for a no-name actress [to play wild Lucy Ewing],” a source told Us in May. “Jennifer doesn’t want a diva on the set.” (Lopez’s rep could not be reached for comment.)

Even the original Lucy, Charlene Tilton, 47, didn’t want to see Simpson in the role, preferring 19-year-old Lindsay Lohan instead. “Jessica is beautiful but too old,” said Tilton. “I had just turned 17 when we started filming. It’s more exciting if Lucy is doing all of these things…out of high school. [Lindsay Lohan] is a great choice.”

Miranda Loves Being Gay

Cynthia Nixon would never hide the fact she's gay ever again.

The red-haired 'Sex And The City' star shocked fans when she split from her husband and started dating education activist Christine Marinoni over a year ago. She told Britain's You magazine: "My private life is private. But have nothing to hide. So what I will say is that I am very happy."

The mother-of-two also confessed she believes there is no such thing as just one soul mate and she has no regrets about dating men before embarking on a homosexual romance. She added: "My relationships with different men have awakened different parts of my personality. This has helped me understand myself better. Mini Posh

Victoria Beckham reportedly lost 6lbs from her already skinny frame before flying to Germany for the World Cup.

The brunette - who is married to football ace David Beckham - is said to have eaten only sushi and pineapple in a bid to shed the weight in time to watch her husband play. The slim star's weight loss has sparked fears for her health.

A source from the hotel where Victoria is staying told Britain's The People newspaper: "Victoria's wasting away and there is nothing we can do about it. Although she is undoubtedly one of the sexiest women in the world her arms and legs look very thin. "Sometimes she looks so thin you worry she might snap in two."

Another source said the former Spice Girl is conscious of her eating habits and often skips meals with the partners of the England football team to eat with her three sons. The insider said: "She hates people looking at her eating and probably feels uncomfortable because she knows people are always talking about her weight. "While the girls order chips and burgers whenever they get the munchies in the hotel, Victoria sticks to green vegetables, raw fish and fruit."

The source added: "Victoria even admitted she'd lost 6lbs before even flying over."

Star Fired

Star Jones Reynolds announced Tuesday morning on The View that she'll be leaving the show in July after nine years as a cohost.

"Something's been on my heart for a little bit, and after much prayer and counsel I feel like this is the right time to tell you that the show is moving in another direction for its tenth season and I will not be returning as cohost next year," she said on the air.

"That's shocking to me," interrupted Joy Behar, prompting Jones Reynolds to link hands with her cohosts. As for where she'll go next Jones Reynolds said, "I'm not sure what the future holds, but I'm absolutely sure who holds the future."

The show's creator, Barbara Walters, wrapped up the discussion by saying, "It is a new chapter for Star. It will be a new chapter for The View in the fall."

So why is Jones Reynolds leaving? Contrary to speculation that she's unhappy about the upcoming addition of Rosie O'Donnell – one of her most vocal critics – to the show this fall, she reveals that the departure was not her choice. "What you don't know is that my contract was not renewed for the tenth season," she said. "I feel like I was fired." Jacko To Move To Europe

If the French love Jerry Lewis, and David Hasselhoff is huge in Germany, where does that leave Michael Jackson? We're going to find out.

A spokeswoman for the onetime King of Pop announced Tuesday that Jackson is tying up loose business ends and is planning a move to Europe to reignite a music career that has been languishing at the shallow end of the buzz pool.

"He's just decided that with all of the projects he's going to be involved with and all of the people he's beginning to work with in the music industry, it's easier [to live in Europe]," Jackson's rep, Raymone Bain, told Reuters. "He'll be going back and forth to Bahrain but Europe will be his principal residence." Visit for more:

This transcontinental shift is apparently only part of Jackson's plan to get back on his pioneering feet. He also has reshuffled his entourage, appointing Bain as general manager of the Michael Jackson Co. (which replaces MJJ Productions) and hiring L. Londell McMillan at the New York-based McMillan Firm to oversee his business-related legal matters. In the process, the Thriller singer cut ties with longtime accountants and business managers Bernstein, Fox, Whitman, Goldman & Sloan.

"He is very serious about his music," Bain told the Associated Press. "When you are a creative person and the creative juices are flowing again and you're about to embark upon new projects, you want to make sure your organization is running smoothly."

She Hits Everyone

Naomi Campbell is being accused of less-than-model behavior again, this time by another of her maids who claims the supermodel hit her.

In a terse single-sheet filing in Manhattan's state Supreme Court, Gaby Gibson accused Campbell of "personal injuries," "employment discrimination," "civil assault," "civil battery" and other complaints.

Gibson, who filed the lawsuit on Monday, the eve of a Manhattan Criminal Court appearance by Campbell on charges of assaulting another maid, asks for "actual, compensatory and punitive" damages without specifying an amount.

The court document does not detail acts by Campbell, but in a published interview in April, Gibson said the catwalker hit her on Jan. 17, called her names and threatened to have her arrested. Gibson told the New York Post that Campbell got upset after being unable to find a specific pair of jeans.

Axl's Hungry

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose was arrested in Stockholm early Tuesday after allegedly biting a security guard in the leg outside his hotel, the Associated Press reports.

Rose was being held on suspicion of attacking and threatening the guard, as well as causing damage to the Berns Hotel where the alleged dust-up took place around 8 a.m., police spokesperson Towe Hagg told the AP.

The singer was intoxicated at the time of the confrontation, Haag said, and will face questioning after he sobers up. "He was deemed too intoxicated to be questioned right away," she said. A prosecutor will then decide whether to press charges.

It was not what started the fight, but Swedish tabloids said the guard attempted to step in when Rose, 44, began arguing with a woman in the hotel lobby.

Dunzo

After three years together, pop balladeer Josh Groban and actress January Jones (American Wedding) are "taking a break" from one another, his rep, Liz Rosenberg, stated.

Other than saying, "They remain friends," Rosenberg had no further comment. Jones's rep, Dominique Appel, also had no comment.

Jones, 28, was spotted this past weekend with Lukas Haas and other pals at the Light nightclub anniversary party in Las Vegas. Jones and Haas star in the new movie Swedish Auto, opening at the Los Angeles Film Festival this week.

The former Abercrombie & Fitch model – who once dated Ashton Kutcher – will next appear in the Matthew McConaughey film We Are Marshall, in which she plays the wife of Matthew Fox's character. Groban, 25, released his second studio album, Closer, in 2004 – the same year he appeared in the Super Bowl half-time show. Unfortunately, his performance was upstaged by the antics of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.

He is currently back in the recording studio working on his latest CD, to be released this fall, says Rosenberg.

Madonna Says "No" To Air Conditioning

Madonna has reportedly banned husband Guy Ritchie from her bedroom while she's on her world tour - because he likes the air conditioning on.

The singer apparently decided the filmmaker would have to sleep in a different hotel room if he wanted the air on at night - because she's terrified the cold air could affect her voice. A source is quoted in Britain's The People newspaper as saying: "Madge can't sleep with the air conditioning on because she gets too cold and it dries her throat out, which can lead to a husky voice."

The 47-year-old - who is performing a string of sold-out dates across the globe - has banned air conditioning from her entire tour.

Meanwhile, Madonna reportedly laughed "hysterically" after being told pop rival Mariah Carey had to cancel several tour dates due to poor ticket sales. The 'Hung Up' singer was said to have gleefully welcomed the news that Mariah had to shelve a host of US shows because of a lack of interest.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Madonna laughed hysterically. She has been asking her tour promoters to email her Mariah's sales."

Brad Pitt was named one of "15 People Who Make America Great" by Newsweek magazine for using his megawatt star power to shine some light on some often neglected causes in Africa.

Also among the 15 people or corporations named were Soledad O'Brien, an anchor on CNN's "American Morning" who the magazine said showed an "inner rage" while reporting on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; and Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose Driven Life."

RIP, Eddie

Moose, the feisty Jack Russell terrier who played Eddie for 10 years on TV's Frasier, has died, his trainer Mathilde Halberg stated.

"He was 16-and-a-half years old, and he just had an incredible charisma and was a such a free spirit," said Halberg. Moose, considered the Lassie of the '90s, died Thursday night of old age at Halberg's Los Angeles-area home.

Moose retired from showbiz when he was 10, and, although he also played a starring role in the 2000 Frankie Muniz-Kevin Bacon feature My Dog Skip (as the older Skip), he was best known for stealing scenes from Kelsey Grammer on the long-running Emmy-winning NBC sitcom.

"He was always trying to put Frasier in uncomfortable circumstances," said his trainer, who had rescued him in the early 1990s. "I saved him from the pound. His owners called me as a last resort," Halberg recalled. "He was extremely mischievous, always escaping, chewing up things and running off. When he killed a neighbor's cat and chased some horses, that was it."

Kidman Weds Urban

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have gotten married, reps for the couple have confirmed.

The all-candlelight ceremony took place just after sundown Sunday night at Sydney, Australia's Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel on St. Patrick's Estate at Manly. Guests at the black-tie event included Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts and Rupert Murdoch.

Kidman's wedding party consisted of her sister Antonia, who was her maid of honor, and daughter Isabella, 13, who was her bridesmaid. Antonia's daughter, Lucia, was a flower girl. On the groom's side were Urban's brother Shane, who served as best man, and longtime buddy Marlon Holden, who produced Urban's first solo album in 1991.

Kidman wore a dress by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga. Her father, Antony, walked her down the aisle under the dramatic glow of a spotlight. She kept her veil on throughout the ceremony, only lifting it when it came time to say the (very traditional) vows. The flowers were white freesias, gardenias and carnations arranged by Sydney florist Saskia Havekes.

Kidman got ready at her home in Sydney's Darling Point with Isabella and son Connor, 11, and drove to Manly with her father in a white Rolls Royce. Bella and Antonia rode just ahead of them in a matching white Rolls Royce.

"Nicole cried all the way to the church in the car and then she cried all during the ceremony and had to wipe her eyes under the veil," a guest said. "It was the most emotional and beautiful ceremony. Nicole looked ethereal with her veil floating, like a vision in white. ... Keith cried when he looked at her. "It was so intense," the guest says. "When her veil was lifted, he moved right in and he grabbed her and kissed her. It was a long, passionate kiss. (Then) everything went from being quiet and elegant and intense to really loud, like we were suddenly at a soccer game. There was screaming and hollering and such excitement.

"But when Nicole and Keith looked at each other it was like they were the only two people in the room. They are so deeply in love. It was the most incredible wedding." In lieu of gifts, guests were asked to donate to the Sydney Children's Hospital.

Both Jackman and Crowded House's Neil Finn performed at the reception, which had a "passion" theme and red color scheme – including red carnations hanging from huge chandeliers and red roses on the tables. Later in the evening, the newlyweds released a statement: "We just want to thank everyone in Australia and around the world who have sent us their warm wishes."

Em's Down Time

Rap star Eminem is struggling with depression due to the traumatic events of the past year, including the death of his best friend and a second divorce.

The star's D12 bandmate and friend Proof was shot dead in April after a dramatic incident at a Detroit nightclub. Just a few days earlier it was announced that Eminem was filing for divorce, after remarrying wife Kim only 82 days previously.

Dennis Dennehy, a spokesman for the icon, divulged yesterday that the singer's condition was improving and that anti-depressants were contributing to a recovery. "Obviously he's grieving. He is depressed as anyone would be if they lost someone that close," Dennehy told the New York Daily News.

However, he was quick to brush off any suggestions that the illness was affecting the star's career. Dennehy stated: "Eminem had said he was taking some time off before this happened. This is his downtime."

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross and stockbroker Tom Mahoney were married on Saturday.

This is the first marriage for both. Cross, 44, and Mahoney, 48, were first spotted together in March 2005, when they took a weekend ski trip to Deer Valley, Utah.

Does This End The Feud?

E. Pierce Marshall, who feuded for years with former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith over his father's oil fortune, has died, his spokesman said Friday. He was 67.

Marshall died unexpectedly Tuesday evening in the Dallas area from a brief and extremely aggressive infection, the family said in a written statement released through spokesman David Margulies. He declined to provide additional details.

"The family would politely request that their privacy be respected during this extremely difficult time as they grapple with this devastating loss," the statement said.

Smith married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89. He died the following year. Since then, E. Pierce Marshall has been locked in a legal battle over her entitlement to the estate. The U.S. Supreme Court last month revived former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith's pursuit of her late husband's oil fortune, ruling Monday that the one-time stripper deserves another day in court.

The case has had twists and turns. Smith won a $474 million judgment, which was cut to about $89 million and eventually reduced to zero.

McShane Not Happy

British actor Ian McShane is furious over the way cable network HBO cancelled his acclaimed western series Deadwood.

The network pulled the plug on Deadwood last month, just weeks before the show's third season began. And McShane, who won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Al Swearengen in the drama, is unhappy with the decision.

He tells the New York Daily News, "I thought the whole thing was handled shabbily. But what the f**k, HBO and Deadwood have been very good to me. However, I think what's been lost in everybody slapping each other on the back, with a possible two two-hour movies to wrap up the series after this season, is that Deadwood is one of the most acclaimed series on TV. A truly great show. So I was initially shocked. And now I'm sad. You'll never know what the f**k really happened. And we'll see if the two-hour movies come to fruition or not. Part of me prefers it to six one-hour shows, because in a two-hour movie you can play with space and time and cover more material.

Look, I loved playing this part. I love the way HBO handled everything up to this point. I think we needed four or five seasons to finish telling the story. I just thought it was odd to cancel the series before season three was even on the air. Whether this was some devious publicity ploy to get more people to watch or not, who knows. But the f**king story of Deadwood wasn't finished, man. So I'm sad about it being cancelled like this."

Breaking News

TV mogul Aaron Spelling, whose unparalleled string of hits ran from The Mod Squad in the '60s to today's 7th Heaven, died in his mansion near Beverly Hills on Friday. He was 83.

Spelling passed away at 6:25 p.m., his publicist, Kevin Sasaki, said. The cause of death was complications from the stroke he'd suffered on June 18. Spelling's wife, Candy, and son Randy, 27, were by his side. It was not known whether his actress daughter Tori, 33, was present.

On Wednesday, Tori Spelling said and her new husband, Dean McDermott, planned to fly home from Canada to be with her father. "Dean and I will be traveling back to Los Angeles to be by my dad's side," she said. The next day, Randy Spelling addressed rumors of family tensions. "The truth is that we love each other very much," he said in a statement. "This isn't Dynasty; this is real life, and we're dealing with my dad's medical condition with his best interests at heart, and as a family."

In his long career, Spelling produced some 200 shows, including Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Vegas, Hart to Hart, Dynasty, T.J. Hooker, Fantasy Island, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place and Charmed.

Nicole Has Urban Sign Prenup

On the eve of their star-studded wedding tomorrow in Sydney, Australia, Nicole Kidman says she's finally found true love with Keith Urban. But the flame-haired Oscar winner has already made sure her bank account won't take a beating if the marriage fizzles.

Kidman, who's worth about $150 million, has had her hubby-to-be ink a lowball prenup that guarantees him a kiss-off of just over $600,000 a year for every year they are together, according to press reports in Australia and England. In addition, there's a clause that allows her to bail without giving Urban, an ex-cocaine addict, a cent if he uses illegal narcotics or boozes excessively.

The agreement, signed in Los Angeles earlier this month, also calls for joint custody of any kids the couple has together, although Urban would be prohibited from taking them out of whatever country Kidman is living in, the London Daily Mail said.

Kidman, 39, will wear a long white gown with Victorian-style high collar during the traditional Roman Catholic ceremony at an old Gothic chapel overlooking the sea in the Sydney suburb of Manly - a far cry from her Scientology-based nuptials with Tom Cruise in 1990, a union that ended in annulment five years ago.

The 200 guests who'll party under a huge white tent after the wedding include her adopted kids with Cruise, Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11; Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman and Lachlan and Sarah Murdoch. Flying in separately are Renée Zellweger and Kenny Chesney, whose marriage only lasted seven months but whom we hear are quietly seeing each other again.

Aware of the high-flying lifestyles of both Kidman and Urban, the Rev. Paul Coleman, who'll officiate, is offering them advice on the key to a healthy marriage. "You've got to use little strategies, strategies like surprises, keeping some form of romance in the relationship, even after 20 years," he told reporters, noting both the bride and groom's parents have been together 40 years or more.

Music for the reception will be handled by Urban, who's keeping it a surprise from his bride, although he's expected to croon a few love songs to her, including his gooey hit, "Making Memories of Us."

Meanwhile, Nicole had her bachelorette party at her sister Antonia's home, and it was tamer than tame. Instead of male strippers and boozing, the girls each brought a favorite recipe to discuss.

K Fed's Important Cause

Every celebrity needs a cause, and apparently for Britney’s hubby K-Fed the more bizarre the cause, the better. How out there are we talking here? How about a quest to save the penny from extinction?

Yes, you read that right. Kevin Federline isn’t taking on just any old cause célèbre — like saving whales, baby seals, starving children or even the planet. He isn’t trying to fight a disease, preserve the environment or reduce reliance on oil. No, the formerly penniless Mr. Spears wants to protect those pesky little copper coins worth one cent each that take up a lot of room in your change purse.

Federline arrived in New York City's Times Square on Wednesday in a truck covered in pennies, wearing an Abraham Lincoln mask, to sign a "Save the Penny" petition against a bill in Washington, D.C., that’s trying to bid farewell to the one-cent piece for good. “What’s happening, New York!” he said when he took his turn at the mike. “We’re bringing power back to the penny. Man, I feel good about the penny!”

Federline’s signature was the first on the petition onstage with him. In an effort to promote Virgin Mobile’s “Penny Texting,” a plan offering 1,000 text messages for $9.99 a month, Britney’s husband then encouraged the audience to text him and held up a poster with a number to send messages to. He also appeared to be furiously texting himself. “Who are you texting?!” a few paparazzi shouted. “My wife!” Federline announced, grinning.

Federline said he’s always loved pennies and collected them in a big jar as a child.

Jess Feels Betrayed

Jessica Simpson is furious with former friend Vanessa Minnillo and insists the TV presenter has betrayed her by dating her estranged husband Nick Lachey.

Minnillo and Simpson became fast friends after meeting at an MTV event in 2003 and frequently enjoyed "girls' nights out" together. And now Minnillo's father, Vincent Minnillo, confirms, "Vanessa is friends with Jessica. In fact, (Vanessa, Jessica and Nick) have gone to clubs together and had fun."

The trouble between the former pals reportedly began when 32-year-old Lachey asked Minnillo to star in his music video "What's Left Of Me", which documents the end of his marriage to Simpson." A source says, "Jess was bothered by that, but she was willing to let it slide because she knows how badly Vanessa has wanted to get into acting."

To make matters worse, Simpson confided in her friend when her marriage was breaking down and Minnillo encouraged her to leave Lachey if she wasn't happy. After seeing steamy photos of the new couple kissing in Mexico, Simpson was crushed even further. The source adds, "It's painful and hurtful, but it just reinforces her decision to leave Nick."

What A Trip This Book Will Be

Pete Doherty’s intimate journals detailing his music career, battle with drugs and brief, turbulent relationship with Kate Moss will be published next year, a British publishing house has announced.

The diaries of the 27-year-old Babyshambles frontman — including drawings, photos, poems and film reviews — have been culled from 20 volumes of his personal journals. They will be published in hardcover in March 2007, Orion Publishing Group Ltd. said Wednesday. Doherty’s writings chronicle his rise from anonymity to celebrity, said Orion commissioning editor Ian Preece.

“Some of it is quite funny,” Preece told reporters. “But some of it is very, very dark.” Doherty’s diaries date back to 1999, before he caught the attention of the media with the post-punk revival band The Libertines, now disbanded.

The Game's Engaged

Rapper The Game has announced his shock engagement to actress Valeisha Butterfield, confirming the happy couple will wed next March.

The rapper, real name Jayceon Taylor, wanted to stage the wedding on the anniversary of his March 22 proposal but has since discovered that day doesn't fall on a weekend next year. He tells urban magazine Sister 2 Sister, "March 22nd of next year is a Wednesday, I think, or a Thursday."

The rapper confesses he surprised the actress with a 19-carat engagement ring: "She had no idea." And in the article Butterfield admits she's still coming to terms with becoming the future Mrs. Taylor. She says, "I was just as surprised as my family and everybody was... I didn't pass out, but I buckled and he caught me."

And Butterfield, a political science major, dismisses reports her new fiance is a ladies' man. She adds, "We never dated, that's the thing; we went from being friends to being engaged."

The couple planned a secret engagement dinner for family and friends in The Game's native California, but the celebration didn't stay low-key for long. Hulk Sells Home

Hulk Hogan has moved his family to Miami Beach and put his mansion near Tampa on the market for a whopping $25 million.

The pro wrestler-actor, aka Terry Bollea, and his wife, Linda, moved last month to a new $12 million bayfront estate on Miami Beach so their children, Brooke, 18, and Nick, 15, could pursue singing and acting careers. Now the 17,000-square-foot French-style Belleair mansion, familiar to fans of the family's VH1 reality TV series, "Hogan Knows Best," is on the market.

The home has seven fireplaces, 2.3-acre grounds overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico, a guesthouse, swimming pool, waterfall and four-car garage. "You can get lost in it," said Marcia Ellis of Coldwell Banker, who sold the Belleair property to the family 14 years ago and has listed it again.

Hogan still owns a more modest place on Clearwater Beach and a home in Los Angeles that is on the market for $5.9 million. "I've got to downscale," he told The Miami Herald recently. "We'll head toward Miami like the Beverly Hillbillies."

Gucci Movie

Ridley Scott is set to direct a movie detailing the operatic highs and lows of the Gucci fashion dynasty.

The exact story line is unclear, but the real- life drama surrounding the couture clan includes how Paolo Gucci almost sent his father, Aldo Gucci, to prison for tax fraud; the 1995 murder of Maurizio Gucci; and the conviction of his widow, Patrizia Gucci, three years later for ordering his assassination.

Variety reports that Paramount has tapped Andrea Berloff to write the screenplay. Scott is now helming "American Gangster" with his "Gladiator" star Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington.

RIP

Richard Stahl, an actor whose more than 40-year career stretched from New York theater to film and television comedies such as "Laverne and Shirley," has died. He was 74.

Stahl died Sunday at the Motion Picture and Television Fund's health center in Woodland Hills after a 10-year battle with Parkinson's disease, his wife, actress Kathryn Ish, said Wednesday. "He had been declining for some time now," she said.

Stahl's film credits include 1979's "Five Easy Pieces," Mel Brooks' 1977 spoof "High Anxiety," 1980's "9 to 5" and 1996's "Ghosts of Mississippi." He appeared on such TV shows as "Laverne and Shirley," "The Odd Couple," and "Barney Miller," and held a regular stint on 1980s sitcom "It's A Living."

"He was a funny guy, he worked in comedy all his life," Ish said. Stahl is survived by Ish, their daughter Allegra and son Oliver.

Reese Sues

Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon is suing America's Star magazine, claiming the tabloid invaded her privacy by publishing a "fictional" story about the actress' pregnancy.

In the lawsuit, filed yesterday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the Legally Blonde star insists Star published the false story that she was pregnant "in a callous effort to boost the tabloid's sagging sales."

The story claimed the actress, who is married to Ryan Phillippe, was pregnant with her third child. The couple already have two children, Ava, six and Deacon, two. Papers filed in the lawsuit claim, "Contrary to the fabricated Cover Story, the true facts are that (Reese) is not pregnant, does not have a 'baby bump' and has not otherwise gained weight such that she has had to resort to wearing 'empire-waist dresses,' 'baggy clothing,' or an 'old-fashioned 1920s bathing suit'." The lawsuit claims the magazine portrayed her in a false light and is an invasion of her privacy, according to website TMZ.com. No damages were specified.

Yes!

Fans of late 1980s/early 1990s cinema classics License to Drive, Dream a Little Dream, and unforgettable the-hot-one-from-Charles-in-Charge-getting-naked masterwork Blown Away will suffer an aneurysm of delight from today's news that the producers of non-exploitative reality fare like Wife Swap have reunited Former Teen Heartthrobs Corey Feldman and Corey Haim for a Curb Your Enthusiasm-style series.

Reports Variety: "The Coreys" picks up with Feldman living the comfortable suburban life with his wife Suzie and son, until circumstances bring his old pal Haim back into the picture. Episodes would follow Haim -- single and the total opposite of Feldman -- as he shakes life up for the Feldmans. RDF USA exec VP of current/development Greg Goldman said because Feldman and Haim have been friends on and off screen for several years, the chemistry between the two " just pops off the screen."

God, No

Paris Hilton - heiress, actress and now songstress - is turning out to be a dominatrix of all media on the strength of her single "Stars Are Blind," which was officially released yesterday. Industry speculation is high that the song will debut on Billboard Hot 100 list in the Top 10 tomorrow.

"Stars" is in rotation at more than 50 stations across America and is the No.1 requested song in New York on Z-100.

Romeo, Z-100 music director and on-air personality who did a live interview with Hilton last week, calls her "a smart, sweetheart of a girl," adding, "Her timing is perfect, she has the sound of the summer: pure pop with a reggae beat. "We knew it was going to polarize our audience," Romeo says. "We were right, last week half of the calls said they hated the song, but it was still among the top five requested songs. This week it's our No.1 requested song."

The four-minute track is also a hit on the Internet. On MTV.com's "Hot 5 on Overdrive," the video earned the program its all-time best performance on a single day.

"Stars Are Blind" is the first single from Hilton's self-titled debut album, set for release Aug. 1. The record, which also will feature a cover of Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy," is under the direction of veteran hip-hop hitmaker Scott Storch.

McPhee's Battle

American Idol's Simon Cowell called runner-up Katharine McPhee's voice "the best of the competition." What hardly anyone knew, however, was that she'd risked destroying that voice: She'd struggled with bulimia for five years, and the self-induced vomiting could have taken away her ability to sing.

At her worst point, she was throwing up as many as seven times a day, which is like "putting a sledgehammer to your vocal cords," she said. Finally, after successfully auditioning for Idol last fall, McPhee, 22, decided to seek help. "When I made it onto American Idol, I knew that food – my eating disorder – was the one thing really holding me back," she says. "I was bingeing my whole life away for days at a time … So when I got on the show, I said, 'You know what? I can do well in this competition. Let me give myself a chance and just get ahold of this thing.' "

With the support of her parents, Peisha, 52, and Daniel, 57, and her actor boyfriend, Nick Cokas, 41, in October McPhee enrolled at Los Angeles's Eating Disorder Center of California, where she spent three months undergoing group and individual therapy, six days a week. "I knew I had put off going to a treatment center long enough – I'd been struggling with bulimia since I was 17," she says. "Growing up in Los Angeles and spending all those years in dance class, I'd been conscious of body image at a young age, and I went through phases of exercising compulsively and starving myself. … Food was my crutch; it was how I dealt with emotions and uncomfortable situations."

Finally, her program at the Eating Disorder Center helped her gain control of her relationship with food – but it wasn't easy. "I really had to surrender and give up having a free life to do the program, because I'd be there from 9 in the morning until 7 at night. … I remember that first night, my dad holding me, crying and saying, 'I don't know why you have to suffer through this, but it's going to be okay.' "

Now, McPhee, whose first single comes out June 27, has dropped 30 lbs. as a result of the "intuitive eating" approach she learned at the center. "I learned that there's no such thing as a bad food," she says. "If you look at a doughnut, people think it's a fattening food – why? Because if you eat it you'll get fat? No, you'll get fat if you eat 10 doughnuts." Although McPhee admits she's still learning to deal with stress – "I still bite my nails," she says – she's much happier these days. Of getting treatment for her illness, she says, "That's why I say American Idol saved my life, because if I hadn't auditioned I don't think I would have gotten a handle on food."

Get Well, Aaron

Aaron Spelling, producer of TV's "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Charlie's Angels," suffered a stroke at his Holmby Hills estate over the weekend and was being treated at home, his publicist said Wednesday.

"He had a stroke Sunday at home," said spokesman Kevin Sasaki. "I don't know the extent of it. But if it had been some incredible degree, he would have been taken to the hospital."

Spelling, 83, was conscious and resting comfortably, Sasaki said. Spelling's wife, Candy, has been at his side. Sasaki said he wasn't aware of any paralysis.

Spelling also produced "Dynasty," Love Boat," "Melrose Place," "Fantasy Island," "Burke's Law," "The Mod Squad," "Starsky & Hutch," "T.J. Hooker," "Hart to Hart" and "Hotel."

--Further: Tori Spelling reconciled with her estranged father Aaron Spelling exactly one week before the TV legend suffered a stroke at his California home. On June 11, Tori visited her father at his Beverly Hills mansion for the first time in nine months and introduced him to her new husband Dean McDermott. Tori split with husband Charlie Shanian after 15 months of marriage, which reportedly caused her relationship with her family to become strained.

She explains, "I'm so over the moon that Dean and my dad finally met." The teary reunion was prompted by her father's ill health and helped along by Tori's brother, Randy. Before suffering his stroke, Aaron was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2001. Tori is still estranged from her mother, Candy, who was out of town when the visit occurred. She adds, "It's sad that my mother and I have the relationship we do, but you can't pick your family. I lost the last nine months of time with my dad because of the circumstances with my mom." Tori says of the reunion with her father, "It was as if a day hadn't gone by since we saw each other."

Movies On Your iPod?

Apple Computer is in talks with most of Hollywood's studios to offer movie downloads via its popular online iTunes Music Store, show business newspaper Daily Variety reported Monday.

Citing unnamed sources, Variety said iTunes might begin offering film downloads by the end of 2006, but currently a price on iTunes is a sticking point in negotiations. Apple's Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs is said to want one flat price of $9.99 per movie, whereas studio executives want a range of prices that mirrors videos and DVDs at retail stores which, generally speaking, run from discount titles at a few dollars apiece up to $19.99 or more for new releases.

Spokespeople for Apple and most of Hollywood's big studios either declined to comment or were not immediately available. Putting movies for sale online via iTunes would seem a logical step for Hollywood's studios. Already, they offer movies online at websites like Movielink and CinemaNow, and Warner Bros. recently agreed to make movies available via BitTorrent.

But because iTunes is already widely used for downloading songs and television shows, the relatively new market for downloading movies would likely get a boost from the added exposure of being backed by iTunes.

The Feud Bubbles On

Jay-Z will exact revenge on his once-beloved Cristal Champagne at the concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of his classic album, "Reasonable Doubt," on Sunday.

We're told the rap icon will change the lyrics of some Cristal-plugging songs from "Reasonable Doubt" - "Can't Knock the Hustle," "Dead Presidents," "Feelin' It" and "Brooklyn's Finest" - when he performs them at Radio City Music Hall.

Meanwhile, the Beyoncé-dating president and CEO of Def Jam tells Page Six that he intends to stand by his decision last week to pull the pricey bubbly from his 40/40 Clubs in Manhattan and Atlantic City. "The response from our customers at 40/40 has been incredible," Jay-Z said in a statement. "This weekend, we sold more bottles of Krug and Perrier Jouet than [ever] and we expect that trend to continue. They are great products and we are glad they have embraced us with open arms."

Jay-Z spokesman Ron Berkowitz added, "You can bet that Cristal will not be in Jay's lyrics on Sunday. What will replace it, only he knows at the time, because he rhymes on the fly - so don't be surprised to hear something different."

Jay-Z popped his cork last week after Cristal honcho Federic Rouzard, the managing director of Louis Roederer Cristal, told The Economist that his company views its unsought association with the hip-hop world with "curiosity and serenity." The snooty Rouzard added, "We can't forbid people from buying it. I'm sure Dom Perignon or Krug would be delighted to have their business."

Jay-Z branded Rouzard's comments "racist" and vowed to "no longer support any of his products through any of his various brands, including the 40/40 Club nor in my personal life." Cristal issued a statement in a lame attempt to placate Jay-Z and others offended by Rouzard's comments: "A house like Louis Roederer would not have existed since 1776 without being totally open and tolerant to all forms of culture and art, including the most recent musical and fashion styles which - like hip-hop - keep us in touch with modernity," a company spokesman told allhiphop.com.

The Power of Blunt

While for some, hearing James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" one more time is reason enough to end it all, however, there is one little girl would beg to differ. Little Claudia De'Alwis, who survived a headfirst fall from the 15 ft high balcony, awoke from a coma while James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" played on the radio. The song was said to be the girl's favorite.

"Claudia loves You're Beautiful and she used to sing it all the time," said her father Paul, 40. "It was like her theme tune. Following the accident, the doctors warned us she might not make it, and after ten days in a coma we were desperately worried that she wasn't going to recover."

"But then the song came on the radio and she started to move for the first time, and we could tell she was starting to wake up. It was an unforgettable moment when she opened her eyes and acknowledged us at last. "Since then it's been tough but she hasn't looked back, she's a real fighter, and I'm sure that hearing the song she loves so much helped her come round."

The girl is still paralyzed in the right arm and leg, but she's seeing some movement improvement.

He Gets An "F"

Ever heard of the "Drunk Girlfriend Test?"

Butter co-owner Richie Akiva explained to Webster Hall's Baird Jones why he is no longer friends with Damon Dash, the hip-hop mogul who co-founded Rocawear.

"We were best friends. We had a house together. We were inseparable for two years," Akiva said at the party Jade Jagger hosted to launch her condominium tower on West 19th Street for such guests as Elle Macpherson, Calvin Klein, P.M. owner KyKy and Dash himself. When Dash's girlfriend, pop star Aaliyah, died in a 2001 plane crash, Akiva was the first person Dash called.

But, some time later, "He failed the drunk girlfriend test," Akiva said. "You mean where you left him alone with your girlfriend when she was drunk?" Jones asked. "Yeah," said Akiva. "She was someone to me. That is the ultimate test, and that's why we are no longer friends." Dash told Page Six through his spokeswoman: "I have absolutely no recollection of what he's talking about."

Blaine's Next Stunt

What's David Blaine's next stunt going to be? He's going to hang 135 feet above the water from the Brooklyn Bridge for a long period of time.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Blaine's next stunt would involve living with various dangerous animals in the jungle, but it looks like while that project is still in the works, it's going to be a documentary and not one of his stunts.

The New York Post reported that last week that he was hanging from the bridge with suspension wires. A stunt 135 feet above the East River, he said, will be the follow-up to his weeklong stay underwater.

Wouldn't That Be Cool?

Veteran actor Paul Newman is in negotiations to reunite with his Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid co-star Robert Redford for the last film of his illustrious career.

The pair, who have not worked together since 1973, are collaborating on a new project which may entice Newman to return to the big screen in his first major movie role in four years. Despite lending his voice to animated hit Cars, which is currently top of the US box office, Newman has kept a relatively low profile since Road To Perdition, and recently revealed he only has one film left in him.

But the 81-year-old hopes his swan song will see him re-team with Redford, revealing, "(We're) working on something but it's not by any means a slam-dunk. (It has to be) either a wonderful character in a wonderful film or a character that was acceptable in a film with some social content." Redford jokes, "The real question is whether he can remember his lines or not."

Nic Light

A new drink containing nicotine has been created for smokers who have to fly or find themselves in a place where they can't light up, according to a Local 6 News report.

Developers in California who invented Nic Light said the drink is the equivalent of smoking two cigarettes. Testers said it tastes like water, with a hint of lemon and nicotine.

"You know I think it's a good idea if it's going to keep smoke away from the people who don't like it," a traveler said. "It would make a difference," smoker Leo Kaiser said. "I would need a bigger bottle."

The drink is available at some terminals at LAX and is being stocked at other airports across the country, according to Local 6 News.

MySpace Sued

A 14-year-old girl who says she was sexually assaulted by another user of MySpace.com sued the social networking Web site Monday, claiming it does not take sufficient steps to protect underage members.

The girl says a 19-year-old man lied in his profile about being a senior on a football team to gain her trust and phone number. Pete Solis was arrested in May on a charge of sexual assault of a child. He could not immediately be reached Monday evening.

The suit alleges that MySpace has “absolutely no meaningful protections or security measures to protect underage users.” “(MySpace) has got to take this seriously,” said attorney Carl Barry, who is representing the girl and her mother. The suit seeks $30 million.

Tori's A Bitch

Gasoline and a lighted match mix as well as Tori Spelling and the ex-wife of her new hubby, Dean McDermott.

Mary Jo Eustace was dumped last year by the actor after he fell for Spelling on a movie set. Now she’s shopping a tell-all. Sunday night, Eustace was ordered to leave the MuchMusic awards in Toronto after the billionaire heiress-actress threw a fit. “Tori, who was presenting, told the organizers either Mary Jo must go or she would,” said gossip columnist Shinan Govani, who escorted Eustace. “So we were secretly taken to an adjoining building to see it on TV, along with our own waiter and wine and shrimp.”

As they watched, Spelling joked to the audience how great it is being married to a Canadian: “They’re a lot nicer and they have nasty ex-wives who write tellall books. What more could a girl ask for?” Snapped Eustace to Govani: “Welcome to my life. I’m up against a dynasty.”

A disgusted Spelling told Page Six: “She plays the victim card over and over . . . It’s pathetic bordering on lunacy. I hope for the sake of her children she gains some self respect.”

JT's Back!

Get ready, ladies, Justin Timberlake has your "SexyBack."

The erstwhile 'N Syncer has announced plans to release his second solo effort, FutureSex/LoveSounds, via Jive Records on Sept. 12, with the first single, "SexyBack," going out to radio stations across the country July 7.

The collection is a follow-up to Timberlake's 2002 multiplatinum breakout, Justified, which debuted on the Billboard charts at number two, won two Grammys and has sold more than 3.5 million copies, per Nielsen SoundScan.

FutureSex/LoveSounds was cowritten and coproduced by the former boy-bander with assists from Timbaland and Nate Hills. Additional studio wizardry was provided by veteran producer Rick Rubin and Black Eyed Peas' emcee Will.i.am, who collaborated with Timberlake on the tracks under the moniker JAWBreakers, which the rapper explained to Billboard stands for "Justin and Will Breaks."

"It's Justin and I's production team when we do things together," he told the trade in January. "We did half of Justin's record and some songs on Macy Gray's new album." As for FutureSex' sound, Will.i.am declared nothing but admiration for the "Rock Your Body" singer's new direction and burgeoning superstardom.

"I can't explain it, that's how dope it is," the musician said in Billboard. "I was surprised that I was even going to like Justin Timberlake. Then he turned me into a fan, and I've become a fan."

Beckhams Renew Vows

Beards, muscles, brawn. Could it be that the years of the metrosexual man are over and the macho man is back? "The new macho is the old macho," said Stephen Perrine, editor in chief of Best Life magazine. "It is about being competent and feeling traditional, filling traditional male roles."

The recent demise of Cargo, a men's magazine dedicated solely to shopping, has been hailed as a death knell of the metrosexual trend.

Perrine pinpoints the death of the metrosexual to a moment in last year's hit comedy "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," when Steve Carrell's character has his chest waxed. "When they ripped the chest hair off Steve in 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin,' a whole generation of men said if that's what women want, I'd rather stay a virgin," Perrine said.

Leo Burnett, a Chicago advertising firm, conducted a global study of masculinity last year, which found half of men say their role in society is unclear and that they feel "less dominant" than in previous decades. More than 70 percent of men said advertising was out of touch with men's "reality," leading company executive Rose Cameron to recommend that advertisers "reassure men of their masculinity."

Advertising looks like it's starting to catch up. A recent Miller Lite ad campaign shows a round table of guys debating "man laws." Actor Jim Belushi just published an advice book titled "Real Men Don't Apologize," and Vince Vaughn's lovable brute in "The Break Up" is rocking the box office. "Whenever there's a trend, such as the more-manicured man called metrosexual, there's going to be a reaction against that, almost immediately after that, where you see a stronger man, kind of the 'machosexual,'" said Eric Wilson, a reporter for The New York Times.

There's good news for women who still go for guys who know about labels and skin care lines, Perrine said. "I think guys are still in touch with their feminine side but not wearing it on their sleeves," Perrine said. "It is those guys that go down into the coal mines and those guys who rush into the burning buildings. That's macho. It's not Kevin Federline with a wife beater and tattoos."

Wish I Could Have Been There

Chatting on the field before Sunday's Tigers-Cubs game, actor Jeremy Piven and Cubs marketing chief John McDonough discussed how Piven would incorporate his signature line into his singing of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

They came up with: "Hug it out, Cubs fans."

But Piven couldn't resist going word-for-word with his line from HBO's "Entourage." "Let's hug it out, bitches," he yelled to the crowd at Wrigley Field.

McDonough, while noting that Piven has been a loyal Cubs fan and friend to the team, was disappointed and issued an apology. "I don't know if professional adrenaline took over, but we don't ever want to introduce profanity into the seventh-inning stretch," he said.

Save Screech

More than a bell is needed to save Dustin Diamond this time around. Diamond, best known as geeky Screech Powers on the 1989-1993 teen comedy series "Saved by the Bell," is selling T-shirts with his photo on them to try to raise $250,000 so he doesn't lose his gray two-story house under a foreclosure order.

"If the public didn't care, I as an entertainer wouldn't have been a success," he said.

Diamond, 29, is trying to sell nearly 30,000 shirts - at $15 or $20 (autographed) each - to supplement the income he makes as a standup comic so he doesn't have to move from his Port Washington home, about 25 miles north of Milwaukee.

The T-shirt has a photo of Diamond holding a sign that says, "Save My House." The back of the shirt reads, "I paid $15.00 to save Screeech's house." The third "e" was added to get around copyright laws, he said.

He's selling the shirts on his Web site: http://www.getdshirts.com .

The foreclosure order was filed last month in Ozaukee County Circuit Court.

Diamond appeared on Howard Stern's satellite radio show Tuesday to plead his case. "I'm doing great with my comedy, but this is definitely a low point," he said. "Real life comes in and affects you."

Tapping In To Ken Lay

If Lex Luthor seems more evil than usual in "Superman Returns," which opens June 28, you can thank the dis graced former chairman of Enron.

Kevin Spacey, who portrays the Man of Steel's biggest nemesis, tells the London Evening Standard: "There's a lot of Ken Lay in him this time. He is more smartly dressed than I think we have seen him looking before. I like to call the look, 'General Rommel goes to dinner.' "

Odd Union

Brad Pitt may be making peace with Billy Bob Thornton in Calgary.

The two are set to team as producer and star of the drama Peace Like A River, which has scouted the city and now looks likely to shoot there in the fall, say Sun sources.

"There's a good sense (in the local industry) that it's coming," says one insider.

Pitt, who will be making the movie through his Plan B company, filmed The Assassination of Jesse James in southern Alberta last fall.

Pitt's presence put the city in the world spotlight with celebrity photographers stalking the streets for then-elusive pictures of Pitt and his paramour Angelina Jolie. Thornton, of course, was married to Jolie for two years.

Arrest Warrant Out For Boy

A judge in New York yesterday issued a warrant for the arrest of Boy George after the singer failed to appear in court to explain why he wants to change his sentence for falsely reporting a burglary in October last year.

Judge Anthony Ferrara criticized the singer for failing to pay the $1000 fine or start the community service.

He also ridiculed the singer's suggestions for serving community service, which included a fashion and make-up workshop. But Ferrara said he would not order an arrest until a June 26 hearing on whether Boy George violated the terms of his sentence.

A lawyer for the former Culture Club star said his client was just attempting to arrange something more worthwhile than sweeping the streets of Manhattan, BBC News reports. Ferrara said the singer: "Doesn't serve himself well by not paying the fine (as) we know he has the means."

As previously reported, the singer- real name George O'Dowd- pleaded guilty in March to false reporting of a burglary at his Manhattan apartment, where police found cocaine. The charges for cocaine possession were dropped.

Vaughn's Mom Conned

Wedding Crashers actor Vince Vaughn's mother has been conned out of $25 million after falling for a scam investment scheme.

Sharon Vaughn, 64, was once ranked one of America's top money managers but was swindled by a false hedge fund promising a 10 per cent return. Carrie Coolidge of Forbes magazine tells the New York Daily News, "She was incredibly naive. Who would believe you'd get 10 per cent a month - and that they'd donate a portion of the proceeds to charity?"

According to reports, Vaughn has been helping investigators trap the scammers, but has lost her license and been forced to pay $809,000. Around $21 million has reportedly been recovered and repaid to investors.

Jacob Arrested

The jeweler known for putting diamonds on celebrities from Kanye West to Sir Elton John was arrested Thursday on money-laundering charges.

Police said Yakov Arabov, known throughout the hip-hop world as Jacob Arabo or "Jacob the Jeweler," was connected to a multistate drug and money-laundering ring.

Arabov, who appeared briefly in U.S. District Court in Manhattan after his arrest, did not want to comment, said his lawyer, Daniel Gotlin. "It's been a difficult enough day for what they did to him," Gotlin said, declining to comment further. Bail was set for Arabov at $100,000, which the Russian immigrant immediately had paid.

The 41-year-old Arabov, who first came to fame in the mid-1990s as hip-hop and R&B artists started sporting his gem-encrusted pieces — was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on a warrant issued in Detroit by federal authorities. The authorities have charged him with conspiring with others to launder money in connection with a jewelry business.

Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Erin Mulvey said the arrest occurred at Arabov's midtown Manhattan store.

Schwimmer Wins Lawsuit

David Schwimmer can tell time on his own, thank you very much.

His publicist announced Friday that the actor was awarded $400,000 in a defamation suit brought against a former celebrity fundraiser who told the National Enquirer that the Friends star requested two Rolex watches in exchange for appearing at an event.

Schwimmer sued Aaron Tonken in October 2004 for saying that the actor wanted two of the timepieces, worth a total of $26,000, and that he had an invoice to prove that Schwimmer received the gift before showing up. It turned out that Tonken had purchased two watches, but they were for himself and a supposed business partner, whose credit card he used to make the transaction.

In his lawsuit, Schwimmer called Tonken a scheming pathological liar" and accused him of being "bent on castigating Schwimmer and other celebrities by concocting bogus stories...in an effort to justify [his] own deceit and lies."

Affleck, P.I.?

Producers of the big screen adaptation of cult TV show Magnum PI are keen to cast Ben Affleck as the famous Hawaiian private investigator.

Charles Floyd Johnson, one of the producers of the original 1980s TV series, insists the Daredevil star would be perfect for the mustachioed role after Tom Selleck held out too long to reprise the part. Johnson hints Affleck would be his first choice to play the lead but, regardless of the final casting, he tells moviehole.net, "I think it will be wonderful. Unfortunately it won't star Tom. He was asked to do six or eight TV movies and at that time he really wanted to do it as a feature, so he held out on it and probably now they will consider him too old to do it."

Has Madonna already found a replacement for Britney Spears?

The Material Girl reportedly dumped Spears as a buddy because the “Oops, I Did It Again” crooner failed to fully embrace Kabbalah and had returned to Baptist roots. Lohan recently acknowledged that she was “looking into Kabbalah,” and now, Madonna wants to sing a duet with the potential convert, according to In Touch Weekly.

However, Variety reports that this will not be Spielberg's next directing job. The fourth Indiana Jones movie or an Abraham Lincoln epic are the more likely candidates.

Most Inspiring

Frank Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life," starring James Stewart as the disillusioned George, led the American Film Institute's list of inspirational films revealed Wednesday in the group's annual top-100 TV special that aired on CBS.

"To Kill a Mockingbird," with Gregory Peck as the upright Southern dad seeking justice for a wrongly accused black man, was No. 2 on the list chosen from 300 nominated films on ballots sent to 1,500 filmmakers, actors, critics and others in Hollywood.

Steven Spielberg's "Schindler's List," starring Liam Neeson as a German businessman who saves his Jewish workers from extermination by the Nazis, was No. 3.

Sylvester Stallone's "Rocky" was fourth, while another Capra-Stewart collaboration, the political saga "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," ranked fifth.

Spielberg landed two other films in the top 10, "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" (No. 6) and "Saving Private Ryan" (No. 10). Rounding out the top 10: "The Grapes of Wrath" (No. 7), "Breaking Away" (No. 8) and "Miracle on 34th Street" (No. 9).

Holdout

Cast members of hit mafia series The Sopranos are demanding higher salaries after the show's bosses secured a string of lucrative rerun rights and staggering DVD sales.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who plays Meadow, Robert Iler, who plays A.J., Steven Schirripa, who plays Bobby Bacala, Steven Van Zandt, who plays Silvio Dante, Lorraine Bracco, who plays Dr. Melfi, and Tony Sirico, who plays Paulie 'Walnuts', are all demanding a substantial rise before signing up for the final season, set to begin next month. They've reportedly threatened to walk out unless their wages more than double.

However, network HBO is only offering a fraction of their demands, and may be forced to write characters out of the series if they don't settle. A source tells the New York Post, "It's coming down to the wire. HBO just doesn't want to pay. No one has deals and they're very far apart. (Show creator) David Chase has tried to help the actors, but even his pleas have fallen on deaf ears. The guys want (a new deal) to happen. These are the last eight episodes, and the money is going to be coming in for HBO for years to come. But the actors get no residuals - and they want to be compensated. They're being treated like dog s**t." An HBO spokesman refused to comment on the pay reports.

Dunzo

As Zach Braff downed drinks, partied with pals and (unsuccessfully) tried to get Jessica Simpson’s attention on June 8 at West Hollywood hot spot Hyde, he looked like a typical guy on the prowl. And with good reason: A source told Us Weekly that the Scrubs actor, 31, and his girlfriend of a year and a half, Mandy Moore, 22, have split up.

“There was no drama,” says the source. “They were ready.” “One big factor: their nine-year age gap. “Mandy was very young when they got together and she wanted to see what’s out there, now that she’s a woman,” says the source. “Zach was mature and realized it was time to let her do that.”

Hilarious

If Tom Cruise's recent public displays weren't evidence enough, Scientologists Jenna and Bodhi Elfman prove that they, too, are willing to go to great lengths to defend their religion.

Indie film director John Roecker told TMZ he was walking to his car with a female friend in LA's trendy Los Feliz neighborhood last Sunday when he was approached by a shirtless man and a tall blonde. "Hey, man, you're making fun of my religion," said the stranger angrily.

Roecker quickly recognized the couple as actor Bodhi Elfman and his wife, 'Dharma and Greg' star Jenna Elfman. Mr. Elfman's ire was apparently drawn by Roecker's self-made t-shirt, which had a picture of Tom Cruise on the front under the caption "Scientology is Gay!" and a 'Stayin'-Alive'-era John Travolta on the back with the words "Very Gay!"

According to Roecker, whose encounter was first reported on LA's KROQ-FM's Kevin and Bean Show, the invective started to fly after he made several references to Scientology theology and its reported central tenant, the story of Xenu. Roecker says Jenna repeatedly said "What crimes have you committed?" and began screaming at Roecker, "Have you raped a baby?" as motorists on Los Feliz Boulevard drove by in snarled traffic.

Roecker says it appears that Bodhi Elfman prepared to take a swing at him, but thought against it. Bizarrely, Roecker also says that the Elfmans had a young, twenty-something male companion with them whom they continually instructed to move away and cover his ears whenever references to Xenu were made.

Reese Expecting #3?

Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon and husband Ryan Phillippe are expecting their third child, according to media reports.

The Walk The Line star sparked rumors she was expecting last month, when she appeared on a Malibu, California beach with her daughter Ava sporting what looked like a baby bump. A source tells Star, "She was wearing what looked like an old-fashioned 1920s-style bathing suit that covered her tummy. But you could still see the outline of what appeared to be at least a four-month baby bump."

The 30-year-old has also been seen at trendy Babystyle boutique in Santa Monica, California on three separate occasions and has been photographed wearing loose fitting clothes. The source adds, "She's a very private person, and doesn't often talk about it when she is pregnant." Witherspoon and Phillipe already have two children, Ava, six, and Deacon, two, and have made no secret of their love of kids. The actress told Vogue magazine, "We both love children so much. I wouldn't want this life without children."

Renee Pleads With Nicole

Renee Zellweger has told Nicole Kidman to call off her wedding - with less then two weeks to go.

The 'Bridget Jones' Diary' star has reportedly begged her actress friend not to wed fiance Keith Urban on June 25 because he is a workaholic just like her ex-husband, country music star Kenny Chesney.

A friend of Renee's told Britain's Grazia magazine: "She's been saying to Nicole, 'You won't know till your married and it's too late'. "She says Keith has all the signs of being a workaholic and that is dangerous for Nicole and her family."

Nicole's father is also believed to have reservations about the marriage after his actress daughter - who has two adopted children from her marriage to Tom Cruise - refused to make Keith sign a pre-nuptial agreement. A source revealed: "Her dad is against Nicole getting married without a pre-nup, but her mum thinks she should follow her heart."

Shiloh T-Shirt Craze

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's baby has made what may be her first fashion statement, appearing on the cover of People magazine in a $42 T-shirt sold by a Denver boutique - and triggering a tidal wave of orders.

Belly, a shop in Denver's tony Cherry Creek district, sent Jolie one of the T-shirts and some maternity clothes in January. It was not immediately clear whether the shirt in the cover photo was the one sent by Belly.

"Everyone's claiming that they're responsible for sending them their `gift package' because they want publicity," the shirt's designer, Kingsley Aarons, told USA Today.

"Obviously, if she wore something of ours, that would be awesome," Belly employee Janci Clawson told the Rocky Mountain News in Tuesday's editions. "But it was more of a `thank you' to Angelina for doing so much for women and children around the world."

Belly co-owner Janci Frisby said she has also sent clothes to Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Garner and Gwen Stefani but got no response. The shirt worn by Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt says "The Pots & Pans Band" in Gothic letters and features a skull and crossbones, an eagle and some pots and pans.

Casting News

John Turturro, Camryn Manheim, Jeffrey Tambor, S. Epatha Merkerson, Fionnula Flanagan, Christopher Lawford and Michael Clark Duncan have joined the ensemble cast of the Anthony Hopkins-directed indie film "Slipstream."

Hopkins, Christian Slater, Stella Arroyave, Lisa Pepper, Kevin McCarthy, Gavin Grazer, Aaron Tucker and Lana Antonova already have joined the cast.

Written by Hopkins, "Slipstream" is a noir comedy about an actor and would-be screenwriter who, at the very moment of his meeting with fate, comes to discover that life is random and fortune is sightless as he is thrown into a vortex where time, dreams and reality collide in an increasingly whirling slipstream.

The story is described as a complex, surreal and dreamlike tale of one man's journey. Hopkins, Arroyave and Robert Katz are producing the film, which also boasts an A-list crew, with Oscar-nominated cinematographer Dante Spinotti and Oscar-nominated costume designer Julie Weiss on board.

"With production under way, I'm looking forward to this journey into independent filmmaking with our wonderful cast and a very talented and dedicated crew," Hopkins said. "Slipstream" began production Monday in Los Angeles. Filming also will take place in the California desert.

Gross

Liza Minnelli's estranged hubby sexually harassed his male assistant, making crude comments about his manhood and grabbing his rear end, a federal lawsuit claims.

Charles Beyer said he went to work for David Gest at his Tennessee home on July 25, 2005, and the oddball producer made "sexual gestures from the beginning, forcing me to use his computer in the master bathroom, making comments such as, 'You have a small [sex organ], I bet,' [and] grabbing my butt."

Beyer claims Gest also "wrote in my calendar on numerous occasions," leaving directions such as, "Shake my penis, make sure it feels good," wash it "in hot water" and "dip it in chocolate fudge."

"All the allegations are false," Gest's lawyer, Eddie Bearman, told The Post's Dareh Gregorian. He called Beyer's $300,000 suit "a bogus attempt to get money from a celebrity" and noted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission dimissed Beyer's complaint against Gest.

Beyer didn't return our call, but his suit is filled with explicit claims about Gest's "unwelcome physical and verbal sexual harassment." Once, Gest allegedly told an employee at a casino that Beyer had "had a sex change" and "was actually a woman." The employee "came to me while I was with my fiancée and congratulated me on such a good job," Beyer's filing says. "It was humiliating." Gest supposedly told actress Jane Russell that Beyer was married to his male hairdresser, and once grabbed Beyer's "private area" - and once paid his bodyguard to grab it, the filing says. After Beyer complained to the EEOC, Gest toned down his physical antics but continued to "make comments about my manhood," Beyer said.

According to Bearman, Russell denies Beyer's account, saying it was "made up," and has offered to testify on Gest's behalf. Beyer, 35, claims Gest yelled at him when he stuck up for Minnelli, whom Gest is suing for allegedly beating him up. "He was taking items such as LPs that were marked 'Liza' and began pouring paint on them," Beyer says. "I told him just send her stuff back . . . I told him she would understand and it would look better for him. He said, 'HELL NO!!!"

Mel's Had It With Spears

Mel Gibson is selling his Malibu, California, mansion because he is sick of the commotion neighbor Britney Spears causes, according to media reports.

The Passion of the Christ star lives next door to Spears in a gated community and has put his $18 million mansion on the market to get away from the beleaguered pop star.

The “Toxic” singer has been visited by police and family services this year, and also has a steady stream of fans and paparazzi following her every move.

A source tells Australian newspaper the Sydney Daily Telegraph, "People are always hanging around outside the gates and he is worried his kids might get hurt."

Gibson, his wife Robyn and their seven children are moving to a new home set on a ranch in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. The new location is reportedly closer to the $3.7 million Catholic church he has built.

Paris Hilton is so upset that Lindsay Lohan has been seeing her ex, Greek playboy Stavros Niarchos, she screamed insults at Lohan at Butter on Monday night.

Witnesses report Hilton went up to Lohan and shouted, "I can't believe you and Stavros! You are ridiculous!" After taking more insults and curses, Lohan said, "That's how you say hello? I don't need to respond to you." Lohan promptly left.

A rep for Lohan said, "Correct. Paris tried to pick a fight with her and started screaming at her, but Lindsay took the high road." After Lohan left, Hilton did a striptease for N.Y. Knick David Lee, Eli Manning and a bunch of other N.Y. Giants.

Who Knew?

Dustin Diamond who played the infamous "Screech" on Saved By The Bell was on Howard Stern yesterday morning, and of course Howard couldn’t wait to ask about the urban legend that he is massively hung. And it turns out it's no rumor, Screech has 10 inches! (unerect)

Screech was the quintessential "skinny and rubbery-faced nerd" on Saved By The Bell (clumsy, goofy, loud clothes, hot for science and chess). As one caller put it "who knew he was the one we should have focused on".

Diamond's girlfriend was there to verify and he talked about some unusual problems he's had with his giant size over the years. There was a funny line that when he was born his dad said he was "all nose and hose".

And he's had the typical messed up life of child star since the days of the show. He now lives in Wisconsin, has bad credit, is about to lose his house, and he has a website where he's selling t-shirts to try and save it. Get an autographed t-shirt from a child actor on the slide for only $20!

He writes, "Congratulations! You're doing a fine job following in my footsteps!"

Cruise also sent the two-week-old a stuffed toy.

Blowin' in the Wind

Daryl Hannah was among several protestors arrested in Los Angeles's South Central Urban Garden on Tuesday.

The Kill Bill actress, 45, and about 25 immigrant farmers and their supporters were campaigning to save the 14-acre fruit and vegetable garden from destruction, Reuters reports.

At the time of her arrest on trespassing charges, Hannah was perched 40 feet above the ground in a walnut tree. She had been living in the tree for three weeks and had said she planned to resist arrest by peaceful means.

"I'm very confident this is the morally right thing to do, to take a principled stand in solidarity with the farmers," she told the Associated Press via cell phone. Asked if she was willing to risk arrest, she said, "I'm planning on holding my position."

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesperson Kerri Webb said some protesters chained themselves to picnic tables and concrete barrels to resist eviction from the garden, which the owner of the land, Ralph Horowitz, seeks to replace with a warehouse.

In the past three weeks, folk singer Joan Baez and anti-logging activist Julia "Butterfly" Hill have taken shifts in the walnut tree, and country singer Willie Nelson also dropped by – but none were in the garden like Hannah when police showed up without notice at daybreak.

Call AA

Jewel has apparently gone from clean-living songbird to Robitussin-swilling lush.

The singer, 32, reveals she recently started hitting the happy juice - and is loving every minute of her drunken bliss. "I didn't start drinking until I was 30," Jewel tells Blender.

"I grew up singing for alcoholics, and it never really seemed like alcohol fixed anything. I was afraid that it would get me. Around 30, I kind of realized that alcohol really does solve all your problems. Whoever said drinking doesn't help lied. You live and you learn."

Pink Draws A Line

Pop star Pink is refusing to add her husband's name to her 21-strong tattoo collection - even though he already has several of her.

The singer, who married motocross champion Carey Hart in Costa Rica in January, already boasts an extensive array of body art including a help button, a guardian angel on her shoulder and a bar code on the back of her neck.

But despite her obsession for tattoos, Pink insists monikers don't fit into her agenda. The 26-year-old says, "He's (Hart) got my name all over him. He's just insane. I don't do names."

Haylie's Hairspray

Good thing Haylie Duff got plenty of practice playing stuck-up Summer in "Napoleon Dynamite" — she's going to need it when she makes her Broadway debut in "Hairspray."

Hilary's older sister will play Amber von Tussle, the archenemy of the musical's main character, Tracy Turnblad, the show's producers confirmed Monday (June 12). Haylie joins the production at New York's Neil Simon Theatre starting July 18, for eight performances a week (Tuesday-Sunday, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday). And on opening night, Haylie can expect at least one friendly face in the audience — Hilary, who wrote in her blog, "I can't wait. I will be there ... with bells on."

Starting September 8, Haylie will overlap with "American Idol" runner-up Diana DeGarmo, who will reprise her role as Turnblad's best friend, Penny Pingleton.

Abrams Gets New Job

NBC News legal correspondent Dan Abrams was put in charge of MSNBC on Monday — and his first move was to take himself off the air there.

It was not immediately clear whether the legal-oriented “The Abrams Report” would continue with a different host or whether it would be replaced by another show. As general manager of the cable channel, Abrams will report directly to NBC News executive Phil Griffin, another MSNBC veteran. The management team replaces Rick Kaplan, who left MSNBC last week.

Abrams, a Duke University graduate with a law degree from Columbia University, began peppering NBC News President Steve Capus with memos about how to improve MSNBC shortly after Capus took over his job about a year ago. “His memos were thoughtful and insightful and provocative,” Capus said. “There was one that was eight pages long. That was the one that made it clear to me that he was serious about an examination of the channel.”

MSNBC has been mired in third place in the ratings behind Fox News Channel and CNN during virtually all of its 10-year history. Recently, pointed political shows such as “Countdown” with Keith Olbermann and “Hardball” with Chris Matthews have made some headway.

Those shows work because they are focused and viewers know what they’re getting every day, Abrams said. “Over the next few months, you will hopefully see the network become a little more exciting, a little more vibrant and a little more irreverent,” Abrams said.

Em's Next Role

After a long break following his treatment for addiction to sleeping medication and the death of his best friend Proof, Eminem is reloading his career ... on the big screen. The rapper is attached to star in a movie remake of the 1950s TV drama "Have Gun — Will Travel," according to Variety magazine.

The follow-up to his movie debut in 2002's semi-autobiographical "8 Mile" will find Em shedding the music angle and going straight for drama in a contemporary retelling of the story of Paladin, a literate, rugged professional gunfighter for hire. In the original series, which ran on CBS from 1957-1963, Richard Boone played Paladin as a tough guy who hung around a San Francisco hotel waiting for people to respond to the offer on his business card, which read "Have Gun, Will Travel ... wire Paladin, San Francisco."

Variety reports that the show's concept will be updated to contemporary times and feature Eminem playing a bounty hunter, possibly based out of the rapper's hometown of Detroit. The movie is being produced by Interscope/ Shady/ Aftermath Films, with producer credits going to Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine and Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg.

Nick and Jess Move On

At first it seemed like just another guys' night out. But Nick Lachey's hosting duties at the Borgata's Mixx nightclub (after the Tarver vs. Hopkins fight Saturday night) ended with a surprise female addition: Vanessa Minnillo.

Lachey was spotted leaving the Atlantic City hot spot with the MTV veejay – whom he linked up with back in March – at about 4 a.m. Sunday.

Still, most of the night was for the boys. Lachey, who has been romancing stylist Kim Kardashian, walked into Mixx just past 1 a.m. to the Rocky theme song with eight male pals, then kicked back with bottles of beer and a toast. But once Minnillo arrived in the VIP section wearing short shorts and a black top about an hour later, they locked eyes and were "Livin' on a Prayer," pumping their fists together to the Bon Jovi anthem.

A few songs later, the two clasped hands, danced briefly to Madonna's "Like a Prayer" and chatted into each other's ears. Finally, Lachey and Minnillo made their exit – he grinning, and she leading the way to the elevator. No word on what happened once the doors closed.

And Jess is rumored to be moving on as well. Star is reporting that Jessica Simpson and Jared Leto could be Hollywood’s next hot couple.

Jared started out a long night of partying with several male friends at chic NYC nightclub The Plumm on June 6. A source told Star, “He looked so hot! He was slim and looked really fit. Even though he was fairly incognito, the girls immediately noticed him, and he had a flock of models around him right after he walked in.”

But the Chapter 27 star, dressed down in black jeans and a hat for club promoter Yuval Eder’s Rock ‘N Roll night, had another girl on his mind: Jessica Simpson!

Another source told Star that Jared, 34, who was in a “really happy and relaxed mood,” stayed at The Plumm for about an hour, and then, after midnight, headed with friends to nearby lounge Double Seven, where Jessica, 25, was waiting. “Let’s just say Jessica was definitely expecting him!” said the source. Eyewitnesses said Jessica and Jared made no attempt to hide their sexy rendezvous. “Jared went right over to be near Jess, and sat down next to her. They were talking very closely,” said one source.

“Jessica was having a great time. She was dancing and seemed to really be enjoying herself,” said the source. Things got really heated later into the night. “They were draped all over each other. And it’s not like they were trying to hide it – a lot of people inside the lounge saw them openly flirting, and couldn’t believe their eyes. “They looked like they were having a lot of fun together. But they didn’t kiss – that was at least one thing they kept out of public!”

Get Her Some Prozac

Pregnant pop star Britney Spears has rubbished reports her marriage to Kevin Federline is in trouble, insisting the former dancer is supporting her through her current emotional crisis.

The singer's parenting skills have been questioned several times this year - in February Spears received a visit from the Department Of Children And Family Services (DCFS) after she was photographed driving with her nine-month-old son Sean Preston seated on her lap. In April Sean Preston was briefly admitted to hospital after he fell from a faulty high-chair while in the care of his former nanny, and last month Spears defended herself again after the baby was spotted slumped in the back of her car.

In an interview to be aired on Today on Thursday, Spears tells host Matt Lauer the repeated criticisms of her parenting and persistent attention from the paparazzi have turned her into an "emotional wreck." Spears also uses the interview to deny rumors her 21-month marriage to the aspiring rapper is on the rocks.

She says, "(My marriage is) awesome. He helps me. He has to. I'm (an) emotional wreck right now." Spears insists she doesn't understand why the media appear to want her marriage to fail, saying, "If they are that's sad. I think everybody should be pro-love."

Denise Says...

Denise Richards has spoken out for the first time about her relationship with Richie Sambora – and the reports that she betrayed her "best friend," Sambora's estranged wife, Heather Locklear.

"The thing with Heather, that's been hard," she tells Entertainment Tonight in an interview airing Monday night. "You know you can't help who you fall for and that friendship, unfortunately, was done and wasn't salvageable."

Richards, 35, was in Las Vegas Friday night to emcee a performance by the Pussycat Dolls when she spoke with ET. In the interview, she insists that her relationship with Sambora, 46, which began shortly after Locklear filed for divorce from the Bon Jovi guitarist, was "the last thing I was looking for," adding, "it's true when they say things happen when you least expect it."

In terms of her relationship with Locklear, Richards says they were never "best friends" as has been reported. "People have gone on – 'Would you date your best friend('s husband)?' " she says. "You know, she wasn't my best friend. She was a close friend in the last couple of years. I hadn't known her my whole life (like) people (are) portraying this." Still, Richards admits, "(It's) been tough having people think that I'm such a crappy friend."

She also insists that Sambora and Locklear's marriage was over – as was her own union with Charlie Sheen – before she and Sambora got together. "We didn't meddle in marriages and anything like that."

As for her divorce from Sheen, Richards says of her allegations in court documents that he threatened to kill her, "Unfortunately the thing with Charlie and I – that was a court document that became public. I didn't hand it to a tabloid and say, 'Here, print this.' And it's sad, and it's horrible that it's gotten to the point that it's gotten to." Sheen's camp, meanwhile, has noted that the document was filed by her own lawyer and not under seal as other papers had been.

The recent events have changed Richards profoundly, she tells ET: "I was always a people pleaser and I just finally got to the point in my life after having my daughters and going through a really ugly divorce ... I've just gotten to the point where life is so short and I just want to be happy."

Meanwhile...

Charlie Sheen has found new love as he fights a messy divorce battle with estranged wife Denise Richards. The Two and a Half Men actor, who has reportedly been looking for love on the internet since splitting from Richards at the beginning of 2006, showed off new girlfriend Brooke Wolofsky at the 2006 Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles over the weekend. Sheen's new woman is a 28-year-old real estate investor. The actor's publicist, Stan Rosenfeld, has confirmed his client is dating Wolofsky, adding, "They make a very happy couple."

Do-Over

The family of the late Notorious B.I.G. and the city of Los Angeles are getting a do-over.

A couple of weeks after stating that an attorney representing the slain rapper's relatives had "absolutely deceived" her, a federal judge set a retrial date for the wrongful death lawsuit that Biggie Smalls' family brought against the City of Angels in 2002.

U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper ordered both sides back in court Oct. 16, warning them to keep the channels of information-sharing open in the meantime. The judge voiced her reluctance to hold a retrial last month after lawyers representing the city presented her with a report indicating that the one of the family's attorneys, Perry Sanders, had lied about information he had in his possession during the first wrongful death trial last summer. Visit for more:

But in her ruling Thursday, Cooper wrote that while she initially took the city's side and believed that Sanders had "misrepresented to the court his surprise and shock at learning about this witness in the middle of trial," she no longer felt that way. She ruled that when Sanders first learned about the informant he was inclined to not believe the statements because there were no corroborative police reports to go along with them.

Brad Gage, another attorney representing Biggie's family, told the Los Angeles Times that Cooper's decision "confirms that the city of Los Angeles intentionally concealed documents about the murder of Christopher Wallace [aka Notorious B.I.G.]." Cooper declared a mistrial in July after Sanders told the court that he had received an anonymous phone call informing him that the LAPD was withholding info about a jailhouse informant who said he knew about some rogue officers' possible involvement in Notorious B.I.G.'s 1997 murder. Cooper ruled that there had been a "deliberate concealment" of evidence and put an end to the trial. She later ordered the city of L.A. to pony up $1.1 million to Biggie's family as a penalty for the purported cover-up and to cover legal fees and other expenses.

The report that the city's lawyers brought to Cooper two weeks ago was drawn up in 2002 by an investigator hired by the family to speak with the same jailhouse informant, who supposedly had talked about Biggie's killing with the former cops whom the LAPD was supposedly covering up for.

Sanders filed papers May 30 defending his claim that the city had withheld evidence and protesting the accusation that he knew about the informant before Judge Cooper declared the mistrial. He also stated that he had already turned over relevant information about the investigator's report to the city's attorneys--who then, in turn, filed a brief Tuesday accusing Biggie's family of going to "odious" and "absurd" lengths to extract more money from their client, Los Angeles.

Luda Narrates Documentary

Ludacris jumped at the chance to narrate empowering new women's basketball documentary The Heart Of The Game to prove once and for all there's more to him than derogatory rap music.

The rapper, real name Chris Bridges, was appalled when he was publicly blasted by talk show host Oprah Winfrey for his misogynistic lyrics, and now aims to show his critics that he has nothing but love for powerful women. Ludacris took the criticism so harshly he's now speaking out about the foundations he has set up to help women's groups.

He explains, "I have a foundation called the Ludacris foundation where I've helped out charities that are geared specifically towards women and I'm doing this documentary because it's dear to my heart." "It's about self-empowerment, self-improvement, self-education and self esteem. I want to help out and, from watching this movie, you will get that there's nothing these young ladies can not accomplish and how powerful they are if they just have that confidence in themselves."

He hopes the film, and more involvement in it will help to give hip-hop's big names a better rap. He adds, "People give hip hop a bad rap. It's the easy cop out. Everybody wants to blame us for everything... By me doing this documentary about empowering women, I can lead by example."

Survey Says!

When Esquire asked men who they'd invite from a list of 14 notable women to a dinner party, they chose Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice over such stars as Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson.

Rice was followed by Oprah Winfrey and Angelina Jolie in a national survey published in the magazine's July issue. The 29-question survey, conducted by Beta Research Corp., polled 1,083 men aged 25 and older.

Asked which famous man they'd invite to dinner, 37 percent picked "Tonight" host Jay Leno. Bill Clinton placed second, trailed by George Clooney and President Bush.

Men said they most admired former Secretary of State Colin Powell (5.9 percent). Clinton and Bill Gates tied closely behind (5.8 percent) and Bush placed third (5.3 percent).

The president did, however, place first in another category: least admirable man in America. He got 14.8 percent of the vote, while Clinton came in second again at 7.8 percent. According to the survey, most men do not aspire to be "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks. Eighty-five percent said they'd rather be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company than win the Fox talent contest (15 percent).

Goin' To Jail

The West Virginia filmmaker who chronicled his decline during a steady diet of fast food in the superpopular documentary "Super Size Me," spent 23 days behind bars for another video report and discovered, he said, that inmates are not all bad guys.

Morgan Spurlock checked into the Henrico County Jail in February and left with some shattered stereotypes. "One of them is that you imagine jail, and prison, being filled with all these bad guys," Spurlock told the Richmond Times-Dispatch. "And I'll be the first person to say there's people that are locked up who should be locked up. But at the same time, I think there's a lot of good, honest, genuine people in there who made a mistake ... "

Spurlock's experience will air July 26 on the FX network, launching the second season of his "30 Days" documentary series.

Is Baldwin Crazy?

A judge wants a psychologist to assess Alec Baldwin. Superior Court Commissioner Maren E. Nelson said the question is whether the actor is attempting to turn the couple's child against Basinger.

"Whether that is taking place or not, I cannot determine," Nelson said. "Someone, an evaluator, needs to spend time with Ireland and the parents to work on that issue."

Neither actor attended Friday's court hearing. Baldwin was given a week to accept the court-appointed psychologist or the judge said she would select another one.

In October, Basinger's attorney said Baldwin suffered from "severe emotional problems" and that he had been accused of domestic violence in the past. Baldwin, 48, countered in court documents that the 52-year-old Basinger "has a pathological need" to turn their daughter against him. He also sought a psychological evaluation and parenting classes for Basinger.

The acting duo married Aug. 19, 1993. They separated in 2000 and divorced in 2002.

Tony Awards

Alan Bennett's "The History Boys" won six Tony Awards including best play on Sunday, and the 1960s Four Seasons biographical show "Jersey Boys" overcame the stigma against "jukebox musicals" to win best musical.

"The History Boys" dominated the drama category, winning best director, actor and supporting actress, as well as best play, adding to a clutch of awards it picked up in London where it started life at the National Theater.

The honors for musicals were more evenly divided, with "Jersey Boys" winning four, including best actor for John Lloyd Young, and supporting actor, Christian Hoff. Its main rival, "The Drowsy Chaperone," a parody of 1920s musicals, won five awards, including best book and best score, as well as best supporting actress for Beth Leavel.

Best actress in a musical went to LaChanze, the star of "The Color Purple," a show based on Alice Walker's novel that ended up with just one award despite 11 nominations.

A new production of "Sweeney Todd" first seen in London won best director of a musical, for John Doyle.

On the dramatic side, it was a good night for the British. Set in a boys' school, "The History Boys" stars Richard Griffiths as an eccentric teacher preparing teen-agers for university entrance exams. Griffiths won the award for best actor, Frances de la Tour won for best supporting actress and Nicholas Hytner won best director. The show also won awards for lighting and scenery.

Another Briton, Ian McDiarmid, was named best supporting actor in a play for "Faith Healer," one of a clutch of Irish works nominated for awards.

"Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon, who won best actress in a play for playing a bereaved mother in "Rabbit Hole," paid tribute to the foreign imports. "Other countries, particularly Britain, invest in their theaters in the way our government doesn't," she said.

Two classic American shows won the awards for best revivals -- Clifford Odets' "Awake and Sing!" in the play category and "The Pajama Game" on the musical side.

The 60th Tony Awards were presented at Radio City Music Hall by a string of Broadway stars, from Julie Andrews to Glenn Close, as well as Hollywood superstar Julia Roberts, and Oprah Winfrey, a producer of "The Color Purple."

Hugh Grant Engaged?

What? No flip comment? No cheeky response followed by that devilish grin? Nope – mum’s the word for Hugh Grant when it comes to whether he’s now engaged to girlfriend of two years Jemima Khan.

In a story published Monday in Britain’s Daily Mail, columnist Richard Kay reported that Grant got down on one knee on a trip to Barbados six months ago. "It's one of the best-kept secrets of the celebrity world," he wrote. Sure is. The couple’s reps refuse any comment, and friends and family maintain they either don't know or won’t say.

Engaged or not, the longtime bachelor, 45, and his lady, 32, seem quite smitten. "They get along marvelously," says a Khan pal, dismissing other recent rumors claiming a rift.

Formerly married to Pakistani cricket-champ-turned-politician Imran Khan, Jemima, a mother of two (sons Sulaiman, 9, and Kasim, 7), comes from one of Britain's wealthiest families. Her billionaire financier father, Sir James Goldsmith, died in 1997, the same year as her good friend Princess Diana. Another One?

Rapper/actor Ice Cube is hoping to complete his Friday movie series by convincing funnyman Chris Tucker to return to the franchise for a fourth film.

The former NWA star's trilogy, Friday, Next Friday and Friday After Next, have become cult hits - but he'll only make a fourth film if Rush Hour star Tucker, who starred in the first, returns to play Smokey.

Cube says, "I've been talking to Chris Tucker and he's showing some interest." "It's just about having a meeting and making sure that he's really comfortable and wants to be a part of it."

Tatastic

Angelina Jolie showed up to a June 7 press conference sporting a new tattoo where Billy Bob Thornton’s name used to be. It reads:

N11º 33’ 0” E104º 51’ 00”
N09º 02’ 00” E038º 45’ 00”

They’re the latitude and longitude coordinates for Cambodia (son Maddox’s birthplace) and Ethiopia (daughter Zahara’s birthplace). Maybe there will be some Namibian coordinates up there in the near future?

Can't We All Just Get Along?

Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams got back at Howard Stern with a vengeance for his rude jokes about the Aussie hunk's gay role in "Brokeback Mountain" - blowing off the King of All Media and his gal pal, Beth Ostrosky, at Nobu.

"Beth went, 'Oh, I'm a big fan of "Brokeback Mountain," ' and they were like, 'Oh, hmm' . . . It was embarrassing," Stern said on his Sirius radio show. "I really don't want to suffer that humiliation of a 25-year-old chicken-[s- - -] kid telling me off." Still, the shock jock had the last word, saying of Williams, who was a guest on his show four years ago, "I caught the vibe she wanted to [bleep] my old ass. I think I coulda taken that tail at 21."

And in other Brit news...

An official wedding invitation to Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's 2004 wedding has been sold on auction website eBay for $2,150.

The invitation, which also comes with a candle from the reception and is embossed with the couple's initials, was purchased by internet gaming company Goldenpalace. The latest purchase will be added to the site's growing collection of bizarre Britney Spears memorabilia, which includes the star's home pregnancy test, a pacifier used by Spears and her younger sister Jamie Lynn, as well as a half-full bottle of water left in the hospital by the pop star after she gave birth to her son, Sean Preston.

Darrick Guy, who represents 24/7 Auctions, the seller of the invitation, told website Tmz.com they obtained the invite from a female guest at the nuptials. According to Guy, the guest has "relations to the groom's family."

Babs Is Back

Barbra Streisand is putting her famous stage fright to the test again by announcing her first US tour in over a decade.

The diva will play 20 shows in October and November throughout the US in an effort to raise millions for select charities she supports. Organizations which will benefit from the charity concert cash include those concerned with the environment, education and women's health.

In a statement released through her management this morning, Streisand said, "The increasingly urgent need for private citizen support to combat dangerous climate change, along with education and health issues was the prime reason I decided to tour again. This will allow me to direct funds and awareness to causes that I care deeply about." Designated proceeds in support of philanthropic initiatives will be distributed through The Streisand Foundation.

Bargaining For Dollars

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes fans may be hearing wedding bells — or maybe the sound of a cash register. The couple reportedly have hammered out a prenuptial agreement that will give Holmes as much as $33 million and that will pave the way for the two to get hitched.

The happy couple and their lawyers have come up with a contract that will give Holmes $3 million a year up to $33 million for each year that she is married to Cruise, as well as a palatial home in Montecito, California, according to Life & Style Weekly. If the marriage lasts longer than eleven years, the contract becomes void and California's community property law kicks in — giving Holmes half of Cruise's rather sizeable fortune.

When contacted by The Scoop, Cruise's rep declined to comment, but an "insider" told the mag that Holmes's parents had been trying to get her out of the relationship — but have changed their minds and now want her to marry Cruise. “If she walks now, Tom will fight her for custody of [daughter Suri], and Katie can’t outlast him in court,” an insider told the mag. “She knows she needs to marry him to get the money to fight him for custody, if it comes to that.”

I'll Take Park Place

Monopoly is headed to primetime, with Donald Trump and R.J. CutlerR.J. Cutler plotting a reality series based on the classic board game.
After intense interest from several producers, Hasbro has pacted with Trump and Cutler to exec produce a TV take on Monopoly.

None of the parties involved in the project would comment on specifics of the show. Trump and Cutler have meetings set up at the Big Four next week. Project reps Trump's first foray into reality production outside of "The Apprentice" brand.

While details of the Monopoly reality show are being kept under wraps, it seems logical that the skein will involve a game element in which contestants try to gather and improve properties in order to increase their ultimate net worth. Trump's numerous real estate holdings would provide plenty of potential platforms for the show.

Trump and Cutler will serve as exec producers of the project via their respective Trump LLC and Actual Reality shingles. Not yet clear is the extent of Trump's onscreen role in the show.

Faux Buffett

Hamptonites should be on the lookout for a Jimmy Buffett impersonator.

A spokesman for the Clam Bar on Napeague Stretch on the East End reports that a man posing as the gazillionaire "Margaritaville" crooner stopped by for some shellfish Friday but didn't have any cash on him. Since the shack doesn't take credit cards, the bogus Buffett went to his car and grabbed an autographed CD to give to the waiter as payment.

The server - definitely not a Buffett fan - later tossed the CD in the trash. Buffett's rep reports the real Buffett was in Atlanta that day.

Lohan annoyed Vogue editrix Anna Wintour Monday night as a guest at Wintour's table at the CFDA awards because, she "got up to use the bathroom to powder her nose six times in two hours," said a spy.

During the last trip, Wintour leaned over and whispered to a Vogue staffer: "Tell her, if she gets up one more time, she will never be invited to one of my events again." Lohan's date, Karl Lagerfeld, was then told, "Karl, this is your guest, control her!"

Whereas once you could leave any comment you wanted, now he’s policing posts to make sure everything is K-friendly. While his fans are outraged by their lack of freedom of speech, Kevin is telling them it’s for their own good.

Here’s what he posted Monday on his Myspace blog:

if you all didn’t use my comment section to dis each other i woulda kept them without approval…but all that shit was stupid. i don’t care if you don’t like me but respect each other.

Duets

"Desperate Housewives" star Nicollette Sheridan surprised fiance Michael Bolton by doing a duet with him on his new album, "Bolton Swings Sinatra."

"I didn't think she was going to have the courage to step up to the microphone and record, and she did," Bolton told AP Radio in a recent interview.

Bolton, 53, and Sheridan, 42, dated for several years in the early 1990s but reconnected last year. Sheridan's publicist confirmed their engagement in March. The couple sings the classic love song "The Second Time Around" on Bolton's album, which was released last month.

"It was terrifying for her because she's been self-conscious about singing all her life, but she has a beautiful voice," Bolton told the AP.

He called Sheridan's voice "breathy," and said it was difficult to match their tones.

Life Imitating Art?

"Entourage" star Jeremy Piven and actor Stephen Dorff nearly came to blows after trading insults in the wee hours of yesterday morning at Bungalow 8.

Both actors - who had come from Sean Combs' party at Pink Elephant after the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards - were, according to many spies, "well lubricated" when they showed up at Bungalow at around 1:30 a.m.

Piven, a well-known swordsman who once made out with four different women in 10 minutes in front of a Page Six reporter, had just gotten done telling our spy how he wanted to "score with chicks," when Dorff - who was in "Blade" and "Cecil B. DeMented" - cut the bathroom line in front of him.

According to a source, the altercation was "very high school."

Piven: "Yo, what are you doing? You know you don't need to cut the line!"

Dorff: "I can do what I want!"

Piven: "No, you can't!"

Dorff: "Yes, I can!"

Piven: "You're a has-been!"

Dorff: "At least I am a movie star - you're only on TV! Cable TV!"

The last comment caused Piven to scream expletives, and security guards were called before the two could come to blows. A witness said, "Jeremy, who actually had a table, was shoved into a bathroom by security and left shortly after. And Dorff, who was in the standing-only section, kept hanging around all night telling anyone who would listen, 'I am going to kick Jeremy Piven's ass!' It was hilarious."

Dorff ended up at 5 a.m. at Scores West, telling strippers, "I'm a movie star - you should want to sleep with me," according to one member of his entourage.

A call was placed to Piven's rep - Dorff doesn't have one - but it seems Piv's longtime rep, Siri Garber, fired him Monday. "He has morphed into his obnoxious 'Entourage' alter ego, Ari Gold," a source said.

Last week, Piven was "obnoxious" at the "Entourage" premiere at the Arclight Cinemas in L.A. Spies relate that he kicked Garber out of her seat midway through the screening "so some hot chick he had just met could sit down. He was loud and awful to her. Siri has been with him forever and done everything for him - he is a pig."

Clooney and Pitt's Project Is a Bust

George Clooney and Brad Pitt's Las Vegas, Nevada dream is over - their ambitious Las Ramblas hotel complex is dead.

Ten months after its much-publicized launch and following multiple rumors about its demise, the Las Ramblas sales office has been closed and the 25-acre plot of land the hotels, casinos and play areas were to stand on has been sold to the developers of the neighboring W Hotel, Casino & Residences for a whopping $202 million.

The news has been confirmed by Dan Klores Communications, the New York-based publicity firm representing Las Ramblas. A spokesman says, "We are no longer dealing with that account as I understand the Las Ramblas project is no longer going ahead." Vegas insiders claim rising construction costs are behind the decision to shut down the Las Ramblas venture - a project backed financially by Clooney and Cindy Crawford's restaurateur husband Rande Gerber, and supported by new dad Pitt.

Pitt and Clooney were signed onto a boutique project rumored to involve Gerber and Station Casinos on the plot of land currently housing the Wild, Wild West Casino. When the project details were unveiled in 2004, they included 4,400 rooms and 11 high-rise towers. Sin City property watchers now believe Clooney and Gerber will collaborate on a smaller Las Vegas hotel and casino property designed, in part, by architecture fan Pitt.

Janice Tells All

With her new show debuting last night, Janice Dickinson is makin' the media rounds and she's as entertaining as ever. On Howard Stern yesterday morning she went into great detail on her celebrity sexual conquests, and some CRAZY things came out! Some of the highlights:

She spent "several days" in a hotel room with Grace Jones and Dolph Lundgren having wild sex. She said they were both amazing lovers and the 3 of them covered every possible position.

She had a hot affair with Kelly LeBrock. Once after staying up all night having sex, she was awoken by Kelly's maid, fired her and went back to bed.

She and Mick Jagger went at it many times.

Madonna has a funky smell so she never went there.

Bill Cosby tried to pressure her (saying that she owed him), so she turned him down.

Brit To Design Baby Clothes

Britney Spears is planning on taking her mind of her reportedly imminent divorce by designing clothes for babies and toddlers.

According to The Sun, the pregnant singer said: “I’ve spent so much shopping for Sean I thought, ‘I could do that and have people paying me a fortune.’”

“She’s designed a little punk rock outfit, a hip hop outfit and a sharp suit. They’re so cute! I think she’ll try and get boutiques to sell them. She doesn’t want to fund it herself.”

Harvey's Crazy

Harvey Keitel is going to hate his ex-wife Lorraine Bracco's jolting, warts-and-all autobiography.

In "On the Couch," the sexy "Sopranos" star goes into unusually explicit detail about Keitel's horrendous temper, drug problems and "destructive self-absorption." She reveals that as she once excitedly took a call from Michael Douglas to discuss a movie project, Keitel screamed, "Why don't you just go [bleep] Michael Douglas' [bleep]!"

She also tells how Keitel creepily sent her third hubby, Edward James Olmos, a machete with a two-foot blade, and had his 9-year-old daughter, Stella, tell the actor, "Daddy said you'd know what to do with this because you're Mexican."

But Bracco, who had a nasty six-year custody battle for Stella, insists she's not trying to inflame things further. "The truth of the matter is that 90 percent of it is already out there in court documents," Bracco told Page Six's Bill Hoffmann at a Barnes & Noble signing yesterday. "The book is really more of a celebration of my life. I didn't write it to get people mad."

Meat Sues

Someone else might have written the "Bat Out of Hell" song, but Meat Loaf claims he should be the only one to use the phrase in connection with music.

In a federal lawsuit dated May 26, the rocker, whose real name is Michael Aday, said the expression had been publicly associated with him since the 1977 release of his "Bat Out of Hell" album.

The suit claims defendant Jim Steinman, who wrote the original song of the same name, wrongly claims ownership of the phrase.

The album and its 1993 follow-up, "Bat Out of Hell II," sold 48 million copies worldwide, according to the suit. The suit seeks damages of more than $50 million.

Teri Says...

TV beauty Teri Hatcher was appalled when she was told a picture of her face was going to be used as a demonstration for women who needed plastic surgery.

In an extract from her autobiography Burnt Toast, the Desperate Housewives star explains her disgust at the actions of surgeons who try to persuade people that they should go under the knife. She writes, "It's true 40 was an amazing year for me. I got my first beauty campaigns with Clairol and Hydroderm... So you might understand my surprise when a magazine emailed me, cheerily informing me that they were going to print my photo alongside the opinions of a panel of plastic surgeons making recommendations as to the kind of 'work' I needed. So I emailed back. I was horrified at the idea that some plastic surgeons who'd never met me and knew nothing of my medical history or my current health would make suggestions about how, under general anesthetic, I could have cosmetic manipulations to improve my face and body.

I wrote, 'Wow. First of all I am so sorry for your readers. I cannot believe this is what you want to put out there for women.' 'What kind of message do you think you are sending to women, when you tell them that a celebrity - Teri Hatcher, a woman who has had a second chance, who has a great year, a great job, won awards, made money, and has a beautiful daughter - that even she needs plastic surgery to be 'better?'"

Scientology and NASCAR?

Don’t be surprised if Tom Cruise becomes a NASCAR fan. Scientology is getting into the wildly popular race sport.

“Dianetics,” the book written by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, is sponsoring a racing team — dubbed “Ignite Your Potential” — that will tour the NASCAR circuit. A Dianetics Racing Web site is being set up for fans.

Driver Kenton Gray credits Hubbard’s work with making him a good driver. “It’s markedly improved my focus and my consistency,” he said in an announcement from Hubbard’s publisher. “Through ‘Dianetics’ I’ve handled stress and increased my performance and ability to compete—both on the track and in life.”

“Scientology makes a point of recruiting celebrities as a part of it’s marketing appeal,” says a source. “If this is another marketing appeal — reaching out to the NASCAR crowd — it’s brilliant.”

“We’re not out selling a product,” Grant Cardone, the CEO of Freedom Motorsports, the company behind the car, told The Scoop. But he says, he too, is a fan of “Dianetics,” and if the Ignite Your Potential car helps troubled people, “that would be great.”

Zombie To Do 9th Halloween

Metal god-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie has been tapped to revive the successful "Halloween" franchise, some 28 years after accomplished horror director John Carpenter's influential slasher flick first introduced the world to Michael Myers, an escaped mental patient who massacred his family on Halloween night.

Dimension Films issued a press release over the weekend, confirming weeks of online rumors that Zombie would be directing the film. Zombie will also serve as one of its producers, and act as the movie's music supervisor. "Halloween" will mark Zombie's third stint behind the lens, following his 2003 directorial debut "House of 1000 Corpses" and that film's sequel, 2005's "The Devil's Rejects," which centered around grease-painted sociopath Captain Spaulding and the murderous Firefly clan.

According to Zombie, his vision of the next "Halloween" film features an entirely new take on the legend of Myers, and should oblige fans of Carpenter's classic legacy while opening a new chapter in the Myers saga. He assured that this next film, slated for an October 2007 release, would not be a copycat of any prior "Halloween" flicks. Malek Akkad, who produced 1998's "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later," and Andy Gould, who worked with Zombie on "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects," will be co-producing the project with Zombie.

The ninth installment in the "Halloween" franchise will be "a bit of a prequel and a remake, combined," Zombie said. The film will be set before the events of 1981's "Halloween 2: Halloween Resurrection," and will focus on Myers' origins and development into a serial killer — his youthful years before his commitment to a mental institution.

Stoners, Unite

New Jersey might become the next state to legalize medical marijuana, if Montel Williams has anything to do with it.

The talk-show host is scheduled to speak soon at a hearing on the pain-killing herb in Trenton, and he's already been honored by the D.C.-based Marijuana Policy Project. The former Marine, who has multiple sclerosis, will also be on hand Monday at Capitale in NYC for the group's gala emceed by Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling and hosted by Susan Sarandon and Mary-Louise Parker.

The most surprising face in the long-haired crowd might be Manhattan DA Robert Morgenthau, a medical marijuana supporter.

Same Old Johnny Mac

Before he flew to Paris to serve as commentator on the French Open for NBC Sports, tennis legend John McEnroe showed his darker side.

While playing against fellow New Yorker and Outback Champions Series senior tour rival Jim Courier at an exhibition match in Atlanta, the tennis brat showed his displeasure at losing a point to Courier by dropping his drawers and hanging a McEnroe moon. Tennis starlet Anna Kournikova was among the 5,000 horrified fans to view McEnroe's bare behind.

People Wins Pics

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got top dollar for the first pictures of baby Shiloh - but they made the weekly celeb glossies work for it.

All the weekly magazine editors were summoned to the offices of the Getty photo agency at Canal and Varick late Saturday night. "We were sequestered into separate and un-air-conditioned offices," said one. "The photos were shown to us around 10 p.m. to midnight, and then we had to submit bids by 6 a.m. Sunday morning. No one got any sleep at all, as it was a manic game of phone-tag to top each other's bids. I'm convinced it was Brangie's revenge on the weekly magazines." The pictures went to People for $4.1 million.

Night Wedding

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are getting tough with the paparazzi.

The lovebirds, worried that sneaky lensmen will get unauthorized shots of their June 25 wedding in Sydney, Australia, are planning to stage the ceremony at night. Their wedding planners say the service will begin after 6:30 p.m. as the sun sets, making it nearly impossible for snappers flying overhead in helicopters to take decent - and marketable - pictures.

Did He Fake His Death?

Three separate witnesses in Mexico have spotted Olivia Newton-John's missing boyfriend, who was thought to have fallen overboard during a deep-sea fishing trip nearly a year ago, Australia's Daily Telegraph reports.

Patrick McDermott, 48, a cameraman whom Newton-John met in 1996, disappeared on June 30, 2005, while on an overnight fishing trip out of San Pedro, Calif. Subsequent news reports revealed that he had amassed a mountain of debts and faced possible jail time over thousands of dollars in child support he owed his ex-wife, actress Yvette Nipar.

But according to a story on Monday in the Daily Telegraph – which says that McDermott is now suspected of faking his death – he has been seen in Mexico's Baja Peninsula over the past three months, and as recently as 10 days ago. Manuel Valdez, owner of a bar north of the Mexican resort town of Cabo San Lucas, tells the paper he saw McDermott three months ago and was struck by McDermott's mood, saying "it was one of those situations where you don't know if the person is on drugs or normally quiet."

Actor Casey Affleck and his girlfriend of six years, Summer Phoenix, got married over the weekend.

Affleck, 30, is the younger brother of Ben Affleck; Phoenix, 28, is the younger sister of actors Joaquin and the late River Phoenix.

The couple first met through Joaquin Phoenix, Affleck's good friend since they costarred in 1995's To Die For. They became engaged in New York City over the 2003 Christmas holidays. Their son, Indiana August, was born May 31, 2004, in Amsterdam.

Affleck and Phoenix are both passionate about politics, animal rights and veganism. "He is a bleeding heart," Phoenix told Boston magazine of her then-fiancé. "He is the most generous guy I have ever met." Affleck is currently filming the movie Gone, Baby, Gone, brother Ben's directorial debut. He also starred with Ben's best friend, Matt Damon, in the Ocean's 11 movies and Gus Van Sandt's 2002 drama, Gerry.

Chris Says, "Thanks, But No Thanks"

American Idol favorite Chris Daughtry has declined an offer to become the lead singer for the multiplatinum rock band Fuel, he said.

"I'm going to be doing my own thing," Daughtry, a 26-year-old from McLeansville, N.C., told The Charlotte Observer on Saturday.

The band had offered Daughtry the job only hours after his elimination from the FOX show last month. Bass player Jeff Abercrombie and guitarist Carl Bell told the TV show Extra that Daughtry was invited to replace singer Brett Scallions, who quit in February.

Daughtry said he expects to announce his next career move in a few months, most likely after this summer's American Idol concert tour ends.

Shannen Is Pissed

Shannen Doherty was furious when she found out her former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Tori Spelling made fun of her on her new TV show So NoTORIous.

The star was especially shocked because Spelling had specifically told Doherty she would never say a bad word about her on the series. She explains, "(Spelling) sent me a tape of the pilot and a very, very, very small note asking me to do the show, promising that she would never say a bad word about me ever, and we used to be best friends, and still care about each other." Doherty was stunned when friends began calling her to tell her about the on-air abuse after the show aired.

The star explains, "I was on a self-imposed hiatus. I needed time to myself and I said no. I don't know if it was something taken personally or maybe it was 'If we make fun of her, it will bring in the ratings and the publicity.' It did hurt. I hope it helped her. If mentioning my name made people write about it, then great. Good for you. I get it. It's a business."

Vito Gets Sued

Joseph R. Gannascoli, who played a closeted gay mobster on HBO's The Sopranos, is being sued by the manufacturer of a diet drug.

The maker of Stacker 2 filed a lawsuit Thursday claiming Gannascoli hasn't been doing enough to promote the product after receiving about $316,000 from the company over the last 2 1/2 years.

"He was very difficult to work with all the time," Robert Occhifinto, president of Sussex County-based dietary supplement maker NVE Pharmaceuticals, told The Star-Ledger of Newark for Friday's newspapers.

Gannascoli, 47, disputed the company's claim, which came after a tough few episodes for his character, Vito Spatafore, who was beaten to death after his secret homosexual life was discovered. "I begged them to do things but they wouldn't," he told the newspaper. "They didn't like I was doing the gay thing" in his TV role.

Last month, Gannascoli signed with another company to endorse a competing diet pill.

Good News For Jess

Jessica Simpson can breathe easier. Producers of the prequel to "The Dukes of Hazzard" decided against having Simpson back as a younger version of Daisy Duke. Instead, they were considering younger, equally blond Kristin Cavallari of "Laguna Beach." But Simpson dislikes Cavallari because she hooked up with Simpson's ex, Nick Lachey, several months ago. Critical comparisons would have been painful.

But now Maxim model and "Deal or No Deal" showgirl April Scott has been cast in the role. Sadly for Scott, it's a straight-to-DVD release.

Tom Green's Back

Tom Green is getting another late-night talk show - this time online.

Nearly three years after MTV axed his show, ManiaTV.com will begin hosting a weekly call-in show with the comedian on June 15, live from his living room in the Hollywood Hills. "It seemed like the ultimate playground for someone like me," said Green, who started out on public access TV. "I've always enjoyed doing goofy experimental stuff that sometimes was too weird to put on a TV show but was fun artistically."

"Tom Green Live" will be broadcast and archived on both Denver-based ManiaTV.com and Green's Web site. He is signed up to do 50 one-hour episodes for an undisclosed fee. For Green, the show is an extension of the wacky videos he posts on his Web site, including such stunts as blindfolding a fan and letting the fan post a video blog about it.

Richard Ayoub, ManiaTV's vice president of programming, said Green is being given "complete and total creative control." "We have no standards and practices," Ayoub said. "He is going to be completely uncensored. That's what we can give him that MTV never could."

Rocky Is 60

It was a Hollywood - and a Planet Hollywood - reunion in Las Vegas Sunday night as Sylvester Stallone celebrated his 60th birthday.

The "Rocky" and "Rambo" star was joined by fellow Planet Hollywood founders Bruce Willis and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for the bash at Stallone's soon-to-open Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Stallone's wife Jennifer threw the party, which included disco dancing and a birthday serenade from Tom Jones. Other celebrities in attendance included John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston, David Spade and James Caan.

Stallone is scheduled to dust off both the "Rocky" and "Rambo" franchises soon. He is writing and directing "Rocky Balboa," the sixth "Rocky" film, slated for a Christmas release. After that he is scheduled to play Vietnam vet John Rambo once more in "Rambo IV," tentatively scheduled for a 2007 release. The franchise began with "First Blood" in 1982.

RIP

Vince Welnick, the Grateful Dead's last keyboard player and a veteran of several other bands, including the Tubes and Missing Man Formation, has died at age 51, the Grateful Dead's longtime publicist said.

Welnick died Friday, said Dennis McNally, who declined to release the cause. The Sonoma County coroner's office said Saturday that an autopsy would be performed next week. Welnick lived in the northern California town of Forestville, but McNally said he did not know if he died at home or in a hospital.

"His service to and love for the Grateful Dead were heartfelt and essential. He had a loving soul and a joy in music that we were lucky to share," the group said in a statement on its Web site. "Our Grateful Dead prayer for the repose of his spirit: May the four winds blow him safely home."

VH1 has continued their tradition of "who the hell are these people?" if this indeed are some of the cast members of The Surreal Life 8 which is said to begin shooting very soon. According to a couple of reports the cast may consist of:

Lindsay's Spending Problem

Lindsay Lohan seems to live by the motto, “You can never be too rich or too thin.” But if the actress doesn’t slow down her spending, she may wind up broke. According to Life & Style Weekly, Lohan’s shopping has gotten so out of hand that she’s sought the help of a hypnotist to control it.

According to Lohan’s stylist, Rachel Zoe, “[Lindsay’s] closets are overflowing with things like $8,000 Prada dresses and $2,000 Balenciaga bags. She has so many clothes, she never even wears some of them!” L&S claims Lindsay spent over $1 million on clothes and accessories alone last year. Between her nightclub hopping, her jet-setting back and forth from NYC and LA and her shopping sprees, Lohan’s $7 million per movie paycheck isn’t going as far as she hoped.

L&S reports that Lindsay - who once said, “I don’t want to be the best-dressed person in the poorhouse” - started seeing the hypnotist after one too many $100,000 shopping trips. The magazine claims that her recent visit to LA boutique Rosasen proves the technique is working as she spent only $920.

Cox Is Coming Back To TV

For her first TV role since "Friends" went off the air in 2004, Courteney Cox is digging up some "Dirt" for FX.

The casting process might not have been as grueling as most: Cox, in addition to being an instantly recognizable actress, is also one of "Dirt's" executive producers. "From the start, as an executive producer on 'Dirt,' Courteney has shown tremendous passion for this project," says Nick Grad, head of original programming at FX. "We are absolutely thrilled that Courteney has chosen 'Dirt' for her return to series television."

In the pilot, scheduled to shoot in March, Cox will play Lucy Spiller, editor-in-chief of two widely read celebrity magazines. The show will also focus on a "schizophrenic paparazzo" who works for her and an actor trying to get himself noticed.

Luda and Kanye Win

Rappers Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges and Kanye West were cleared on Thursday of accusations they pilfered rhythms and phrases from a song by a small New Jersey group who had filed a copyright case in a New York court.

The little-known group I.O.F. had claimed Ludacris and Grammy Award winner West breached copyright laws by stealing lyrics and style from their song "Straight Like That," using it for the pair's 2003 hit single "Stand Up." The four members of I.O.F., standing for It's Only Family, said they distributed copies of their song to music executives in 2002 and 2003, only to later recognize elements of their song in Ludacris' "Stand Up," co-produced by West.

Jeff Billingsley, manager of I.O.F., said the group was determined to appeal. "Probably Ludacris feels good that he got over this, but he has not gotten away," he told Reuters. Lawyers for Ludacris and West argued during the case that the first time they heard I.O.F.'s song was when the lawsuit was filed, and that similar rhythms and chorus words "like that" contained in both songs were not original to I.O.F.

The case livened up the normally sober proceedings of the U.S. District Court in Manhattan as lawyers played rap music to the jurors as part of their arguments.

Don't Mess With Lisa Turtle

Lark Voorhies, the actress who played Lisa Turtle in TV's 'Saved by the Bell,' has sued the National Enquirer for allegedly libeling her with accusations she had a cocaine addiction.

In a filing Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Voorhies is asking for unspecified punitive damages as a result of the June 2005 article, which quoted a "friend" of Voorhies' as saying she has a "terrible drug problem" and was "bipolar." The actress says the allegations are false.

Voorhies says the Enquirer article cost her several acting jobs, invaded her privacy, and caused her "humilation, embarrassment, hurt feelings, mental anguish, and suffering." A month after the article appeared, Voorhies' doctor, Howard Askins, wrote a letter saying she didn't have a cocaine addiction and wasn't admitted to the hospital for substance abuse.

McCarrey?

Jenny McCarthy uncomfortably dodged questions yesterday when she was asked about her new relationship with comedian Jim Carrey while appearing on talk show The View.

The pin-up, who is known for candidly discussing divorce, childbirth and motherhood, was uncharacteristically tight-lipped about her new relationship. She said, "No comment. Does that ever work? The funny thing is I've never said it in my whole life!"

The View co-hosts Star Jones and Joy Behar asked McCarthy if she could confirm that she was dating "a well-known comedian who makes funny faces who is not Jerry Lewis." McCarthy deferred and said people who were interested in who she is dating could "look it up online," hastily adding, "Let's move on to the next topic."

The Truman Show star was recently spotted enjoying an intimate dinner with McCarthy on May 20 at Los Angeles hot spot M Cafe de Chaya. The celebrity couple have been romantically linked since December, but have not confirmed they are dating.

Is Fey Done With SNL?

Tina Fey may not have a future on "Saturday Night Live."

An "SNL" spokesman said yesterday that Fey "has not yet made a decision" on whether she'll stay with the show as head writer and co-anchor of "Weekend Update" - or leave to focus on her new sitcom, "30 Rock," premiering this fall on NBC. Fey created "30 Rock" and will co-star with Alec Baldwin, "SNL" alum Tracy Morgan and current "SNL"-er Rachel Dratch. She'll also executive-produce and write the show, leaving her precious little time to devote to her weekly gig anchoring "Weekend Update."

Us Weekly reports in this week's issue that Fey will leave "SNL" to focus on "30 Rock" - and quotes a source confirming her departure from NBC's late-night comedy franchise.

"That's why she wore the T-shirt that said 'Thank You' during the closing credits of the [May 20] season finale of 'SNL,' " the source tells Us Weekly.

I'm Skeptical

Mariah Carey is desperate to start work on her new film Tennessee, after taking over the part from R+B rival Janet Jackson.

Jackson piled on the pounds to play a waitress in the film, but had to drop out after the project started interfering with her musical comeback. Producer, Lee Daniels, who made Monster's Ball, had then turned to Carey after seeing her in a small movie role.

Carey explains, "It was really great because I did this little independent film with Mira Sorvino called Wise Girls." "He happened to see it and hadn't seen "the other one" (her film flop Glitter), so it was really cool because doing that enabled more doors to open for me."

"I haven't begun shooting yet. I'm very excited about it!"

Fake Monroe Exhibit?

A Marilyn Monroe exhibition onboard the Queen Mary cruise ship, which is anchored in Long Beach, California, is being exposed as an alleged fake.

Two Monroe experts, who checked out the memorabilia exhibition, have joined forces to sue the Queen Mary after insisting items on show, including a lipstick holder and a red dress, never belonged to the late movie icon. In a lawsuit filed on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Monroe biographer Ernest Cunningham and fan Emily Sadjady insist Queen Mary bosses and exhibit organizers should refund admission fees to all visitors since last November, when the show opened.

Queen Mary bosses and memorabilia collector Robert W Otto, who owns the items on display, are refusing to comment about the lawsuit, but Otto has previously insisted all the items are authentic. The plaintiffs' attorney, George Braunstein, says, "The Queen Mary should have done a little more homework." The exhibit was forced to move to the Queen Mary after the Hollywood Museum cancelled a scheduled show over concerns some of the items weren't authentic.

Kind of Sad

Uma Thurman threw herself into acting following her split from husband Ethan Hawke in 2003, describing work as "my best friend".

Speaking to talk show host Oprah Winfrey, the actress also takes a swipe at relationships with past friends and partners, which she suggests were worthless and unrewarding.

Thurman - now dating businessman Andre Balazs - says, "Work has been my best friend my whole life, so getting back to work for me is like getting back to my best friend." "It's been the fairest relationship I've ever been in, it's been the most nurturing relationship. You feel like you can make a contribution that isn't worthless."
