Knight Rider

David Hasselhoff's dreams of taking his "Knight Rider" TV show to the big screen have hit a snag, after a dispute with his movie studio.

The Baywatch hunk has spent years trying to resurrect the hit series about a talking car and had reportedly lined up a studio to make the movie - with Ben Affleck being touted to play Hasselhoff's Michael Knight character. But the 51-year-old has parted ways with the studios after an "artistic difference". A source tells American news site The Scoop, "The studio didn't want the car to talk. David was like, 'Hello?' So he's switching studios."

I shamefully will admit that I LOVED that show. And I agree with David--Kit HAS to talk. One of them has to have some intelligent things to say, and it sure as hell won't be Hasselhoff.

You Said

Not to be TOO picky, but it's KITT, not KIT (the Knight Industries Two Thousand).

And of course its evil twin was KARR (The Knight Automated Roving Robot).

And yes I loved that show as well, in case it's not obvious. :)

Oh wow...you're hard core.

Ok I know this makes me an even bigger dork, but it was KITT. "Knight Rider" was one of the first appointment tv shows that I can remember. I always wanted a car with a turbo boost button.

Ok. You're both disturbingly hard core. Within 1 minute of my post I've been corrected TWICE!

You want to talk hardcore, I was so disappointed that they didn't use the right voice on the "Nick and Jessica Variety Hour". I mean come on it's not like Mr. Feeny is dead or something. :)

Hot car with lots of cool gadgets: James Bond.

Hot TALKING car with lots of cool gadgets: Knight Rider.

Any questions?

Oh man, I loved that show. Even the license plate said "KITT". Awesome.

That theme song used to be my ringer on my phone.

Oh, and remember Thunderwolf?!?

Are you talking about Airwolf with Jan Michael Vincent and Ernest Borgnine? Loved that show too.

I was more of an A-team guy. "Da, da, da, da.....da, da, da,..., dun, da, da, da, da, da,...,da, da, da..."

Says: Grant at May 6, 2004 02:40 PM

Oh Grant...I love you. I ADORED the "A-team." I used to play A-team with my friends when I was young. "I love it when a plan comes together."

What studio exec dumbass had the idea that KITT shouldn't talk? That was the point of the show, as well as having Hasselholf score with every pretty chick he found. Ah, the days before AIDS became a househould word.

I just hope the movie is a lot better than that TV movie they made back in the '90's. Crappy movie and they KILLED Devon! How can you kill the cool Brit?

I have got to find the Airwolf theme online somewhere. I need a cool startup sound for my laptop!

"I pity the fool!" :-)
