Cry me a river

One-time pop sensation Sinead O'Connor was back in the news Friday -- by taking out a full-page ad pleading for people to stop making fun of her.

O'Connor, who shot to international fame in 1990 with her biggest hit, "Nothing Compares 2 U," claimed she'd been "consistently ridiculed, lashed and called mad" for decades, particularly in her native Ireland.

--You made your bed, Sinead. People who thrive on being controversial pay the price.

You Said

"You can't go home again". Duh, stewpid dozy bitch.

Do they recognize her with hair?

I understand she is setting up a foundation to eradicate head lice from Ireland. How can you not make fun with that?

Is it just me, or does she look better bald?

Says: Mel at September 27, 2004 10:38 PM

Something tells me that taking out an ad asking people to stop making fun of her was probably not the best way to get people to do that.

Freaking moron. Bald chick (by choice), biggest hit written by the freak Prince, tore up picture of Pope on SNL, etc, etc.

Hmmm...wonder why she's been mocked for so long?

Most misunderstood artist of the last decade. Yes, she is controversal but if it gets people to openly discussing a topic then more power to her. Yes she did self distruct her career but then again she put her convictions ahead of financial gain and that is a rare finding in today's ever more materialistic, self serving world. And what are we to to do blast her for being overly sensitive to criticism? I for one am amazed that she allowed her emotional sensitivity to be displayed publically by using an advertisment.
