Lake's ashes

For years after the legendary screen siren's death, it was believed that Veronical Lake's remains had been scattered off the coast of Florida by her friends.

However, for mysterious reasons, it seems some or all of her ashes never made it to their intended destination. Instead, they were reportedly passed among friends and acquaintances and eventually ended up at a small antique shop in upstate New York. Now, the vintage store in the Catskills plans to honor the blonde bombshell with a look-a-like contest this weekend. After the tribute, the current owner of the ashes may reportedly try to sell them.

--I think I'd like to be cremated, but I guess now I need to put something in my will indicating what I'd like done with them. I don't want to end up somewhere random like that! On an unrealted note, didn't Kim Basinger play a Veronica Lake look-alike in LA Confidential?

You Said

Yes she did. I just watched that movie for the first time Sat. She got an Oscar and Golden Globe for that role.

I don't know about that whole ash thing since the scandal with that crematorium in Georgia. Over 300 bodies just thrown about the acreage. EEESHH!

"LA Confidential" is one of my favorites, and Veronica Lake was one of the classic beauties, and very underrated as an actress. "Sullivan's Travels" is a great film, probably her best.

Lake ended up poor, working as a waitress in NYC. Very sad.

My grandpa's ashes ended up in a warehouse somewhere in Northern california after the guy who was paid by the funeral home to scatter them, was caught. My aunt and uncle had to go to court to get his ashes back. It was MESSED up!

LA Confidential is one of my all-time favorite movies...i mean, come on: kevin spacey (*sigh*), russell crowe, guy pearce, james cromwell, and kim basinger....excellent....

oh - and, i want to be cremated too - so i am also going ot have to put something in my will about where i want them scattered...I guess that will be the next question - where should you have your ashes scattered?

all i can picture right now is the scene in "Big Lebowski" where the Dude and Walter are attempting to scatter Donnie's ashes from a Folgers can....hee hee.
