What was she thinking?

And we have yet another star subjecting their poor child (in this case, children) to horrific names:

Julia Roberts gave birth to twins Hazel Patricia Moder and Phinnaeus Walter Moder on Sunday morning.

--I'm sorry, but I have to give that a big, fat, WTF.

You Said

As heard on the radio today it is obvious Julia didn't perform the "Yell the names out the back door test" to see if the names sounded silly.

Phinnaeus Walter you get in here now!!!

I say it fails.

I suppose she's trying to go old-school with the names. Phinn (shortened, of course) is kind of a cool name. Phinnaeus, however, sounds like something out of an H.G. Wells book.

I'll never forget my 9th grade English lit class when a fellow student pronounced "Phinnaeus" as "Penis." It was classic humor, especially when you're only 14 years old.

When you're 14 nothin!!! I'm still laughing!!!! :-)

Says: Kevin the Interloper at November 29, 2004 08:53 AM

And everything else about her is so classy...

Better than Apple though.

I wouldn't mind Phinnaeus if she had spelled it "Finneaus" or something like then and then the kid could go by "Finn"...i dig it. So did my husband. His response to hearing the names was: "Phinnaeus kicks ass." Nice.

I get "Phinn" as a nickname. But Hazel?? WTF??

Says: Susan at November 29, 2004 05:53 PM
