Best TV Characters?

MSN has announced its list of the 10 Best Current TV Characters.

I overwhelmingly agree with #2 and #3--Dr. Cox on Scrubs and Emily Gilmore on Gilmore Girls.

Who would be on your list?

Posted by Lawren at December 14, 2004 06:27 AM

You Said

I wouldn't have had Seth from The O.C. on there...he was great last season but this season he bugs the bejeezers out of me. How about Sawyer from Lost? Bree from Desperate Housewives?

My Top Ten (in no particular order):

Allen Shore -- Boston Legal
Bree Van deCamp -- Desperate Housewife
Ruth Fisher -- Six Feet Under
Andy Sipowicz -- NYPD Blue
Toby Ziegler -- The West Wing
Al Swearengen -- Deadwood
Dr. Cox -- Scrubs
Adrian Monk -- Monk
Sydney Bristow -- Alias
Lenny Briscoe -- Law & Order

I know, Briscoe's no longer on L & O; but he'll be on a spin-off, so he counts! :-p

Great list, Kevin. I too think wrongly left out Alan Shore.

You know, I didn't even look at that list until now. There are several shows noted that I never even watch.

But such is the nature of these lists, no? It just gives us all a chance to argue the entertainment equivalent of the "designated hitter" argument. :-)

Thanks for making MP&S one of my favorite stops of the day.

I work with someone that reminds me of Emily Gilmore.

Here's my list of faves, in no particular order - except for number one, b/c I "heart" him:
1. Toby Zeigler - "West Wing"
2. Alan Shore - "Boston Legal"
3. J.D. - "Scrubs"
4. Det. Olivia Benson -"Law & Order: SVU"
5. Greg (or Warrick, can't decide!) - "CSI"
6. C.J. - West Wing

So hard to decide! Especially on the West Wing & Six Feet Under.

Sidney Bristoe - Alias
Donna, Toby, and Charlie - West Wing
Claire - Six Feet Under
Warrick - CSI

Can't make up my mind for Las Vegas or Without a Trace.

Says: lynne at December 14, 2004 06:35 PM

I wouldn't have picked any from that list! Mine would be:

-Alan Shore (Boston Legal)
-Bree (Desperate Housewifes)
-Robert Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond)
-Charlie (2.5 men)
-The coroner on CSI Miami, but I can't remember her name.

I can honestly (and happily) say that I've not watched ANY of the shows they mentioned, so I have NO idea if they're good or not. As for all the ones listed above....well I've seen the Law & Order's and CSI's...other than that, my viewing tastes are confined to "24", "Enterprise", "Lost" and "The Dead Zone"...oh yeah and "Stargate: Atlantis"
