Way To Shoot Yourself In The Foot

Said by an insider of rapper Lil' Jon: "Lil' Jon seriously hates Usher," says the insider. "He feels like he was responsible for the success of 'Yeah,' which he was. He produced the song and sang on it. He likes to mock Usher by saying his name in a little high voice and calls him 'Baby Usher."

--RRIIIGGGHHHTT. Because you just have sooooo much talent Lil' Jon. You must have been consuming too much of your new energy drink, Crunk Juice. (And it must have some serious hallucinogens in it).

You Said

This is not the first time I've read about this guy, but I'm sure I have never heard of him other than word-of mouth on blogs and such.

Yet another no-talent clown who's getting an awful lot of run. How do I get in on that action?

Now now, Mills. As your resident hip-hop expert, I can tell you that Lil Jon, though annoying, has either produced or appeared in about 85% of the multi-platinum hip-hip or rap hits of the past 3 years. He is what we call LOW-DEAD. A few years ago it was Pharrell, but now it's Lil Jon that everyone, and I mean everyone, wants to produce their tracks.

Keep blingin'!

ICE

That may be true, Ice. However, I have no respect for young punks shooting their mouths off like this.

Ha! Okay then. :) Did you know that Usher recently had the red carpet completely sealed off so that he could walk it alone. The other celebs were "ushered" aside and told to enter the building so that they could shut it down for him - he demanded it or would not show at the crappy awards show (don't remember which)?! Sounds like someone is becoming a little "diva" himself - and I'm sure dating Naomi Campbell now doesn't help . . .

Says: Iceman at December 29, 2004 09:59 AM

I wouldn't call what Lil' Jon does "singing". It's more like rhythmic yelling. WHAT! YEAH! OK!

He is a really good producer, though.

Says: Mel at December 29, 2004 01:59 PM

Well he did produce "Yeah". He produced everything about the song except for Usher and Luda's parts. So he should get some recognition there. And yeah, a majority of the beats you hear behind your favorite songs are produced by Lil Jon, Neptunes, and Kanye West. Kanye West deserves a hell of a lot of credit for his productions and they go back years.
