Hindsight

Pamela Anderson was offered the lead role in the series Desperate Housewives, but turned it down after producers asked her to dye her hair brown.

“Blonde is my trademark so I said no,” explained the 37-year-old former Baywatch star. “Now I could kick myself as the show is simply great. I am hoping to persuade them to give me a guest star role.”

Pam could have starred as Susan Mayer – the divorcee and single mother, struggling to find love with the perfect man. The part eventually went to former Lois And Clark star Terri Hatcher.

--Um, Pam--if your agent advised you on that one, fire him. However, I think we're all relieved Teri Hatcher has the part.

You Said

I have yet to watch this show. Guess I better see what all the hype is about.

Don't watch the show, but talentless wannabe porn star vs Teri Hatcher is not a contest.

Says: Brian D. at January 13, 2005 08:20 AM

Wait a sec, don't get me wrong. Terri has more talent in her little finger than Pam does, BUT.... Pam certainly has some attributes that would not be detrimental to the show. Two I can think of in particular!

Pam Anderson was loads of fun to watch in VIP, but mainly because she laughed at herself the whole time.
Yeah, a guest role is more appropriate.
As for Teri Hatcher she is great in DH, just wish she would get her hair cut or something. I am amazed how the straggly ends of her hair distract me.

Oh my gosh -- SO glad Teri Hatcher has it instead. Can't imagine Pam in that role.

Says: Principessa at January 13, 2005 09:47 AM

I still haven't watched the show. *shame*

But Um... I would not have watched it if it had Pam in it, I'm sorry... her acting SUCKS.
blah!

Says: La Bella at January 13, 2005 10:05 AM

I dont think she would've been good for the role...she's a bit too much and Hatcher plays it well.

Does she realize that she could have dyed her hair back to blonde when they wrapped filming for the season? Not that hard, it seems. Just another no talent ass clown with blonde hair and monster cans.

Says: Iceman at January 13, 2005 10:36 AM

Hee hee..."no talent assclown." I love "Office Space."

Says: Lawren at January 13, 2005 10:38 AM

That would have doomed the show to fail. Susan is supposed to be low key. Can you see a low key person with hair as big as Pam's?

It's too bad for her, but I think we're all grateful!

Says: Christina at January 13, 2005 01:45 PM

I could totally see her in the roll of Edie, though...

Says: Carrie at January 13, 2005 02:05 PM

I'm guessing she was asked to read - but I don't know if she was really offered the part - that's one of those "releases" which is supposed to help both parties - Pam looks like she still has Hollywood clout - Desp. Housewives gets more pub - or am I just cynical?
