Idol's Back!

Rock star Billy Idol is on the comeback trail more than a decade since he made his last studio album, reports the BBC.

The British-born singer, who scored a string of hits in the 1980s with tracks such as White Wedding, Rebel Yell and Mony Mony, still has the trademark shock of blond hair and snarling lip curl. Idol, who celebrates his 50th birthday later this year, is releasing a new collection, Devil's Playground.

"I'd like to add to the body of work that I've done. I'm not exactly dead, and I love rock and roll," Idol said.

After a serious motorcycle accident and an overdose in the early '90s, Idol remains unsure whether he will turn into an aging hell-raiser. "My mission is to map the Billy Idol world, but whether that takes craziness or a clear head, I've yet to find out," Idol said. "I'm still waiting to see what the hell I turn into. But right now I'm enjoying what I do."

--I loved "Eyes Without a Face," "White Wedding," and "Cradle of Love." I'll be interested to hear what he sounds like now and what kind of music he puts out.

You Said

The video for "Cradle of Love" is one of my favorites. I've heard the first couple singles off the new album and they aren't bad. There is no mistaking who is singing.

I've heard a couple of the new songs. If you didn't know they were new you would swear it is vintage Idol. SWEET!

I wonder if he will stand on a balcony again and show his manhood.
