Simple Life star Nicole Richie turned shopping aisle vigilante recently when she manhandled a woman who tried to steal from her purse.

The daughter of Lionel Richie spotted the chubby woman reaching into her handbag as she shopped for toiletries in a Beverly Hills store and immediately went on the attack.

Richie reportedly pinned the thief up against a wall as security guards rushed over to see what the fuss was all about. After listening to the desperate housewife's pleas for mercy, Richie decided not to press charges.
