Casting News

--Natalie Portman has signed on to Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, the story of a magical toy store that teaches jaded children to believe. Zach Helm makes his directorial debut on the pic, which begins shooting Monday.

--Jack Black is heading south of the border for an untitled project helmed by Napolean Dynamite's Jared Hess. Black stars as a Mexican priest who moonlights as a wrestler to raise money for a local orphanage.

--Meryl Streep will headline Mother Courage, the New York Public Theater production penned by Angels in America mastermind Tony Kushner. Curtains rise in Central Park next summer.

--The King of Queens' Kevin James has signed on to the Disney comedy as a substitute teacher who disastrously fills in on a sixth grade class' annual outing. Cameras start rolling in late summer.

--Jeff Daniels joins Robin Williams and Cheryl Hines in the comedy, RV, about a road-tripping family that decides to remain in the wilderness.

--Anne Heche has just signed on to the holiday telepic Silver Bells , as a librarian who takes a runaway teen under her wing. Cameras roll next week on the Hallmark production.
