The CFDA's

Fashion’s brightest glamorously packed the New York Public Library Monday night to witness the 2005 Council of Fashion Designers of America’s annual awards gala. While it must be said that each nominee’s works truly merits his or her own CFDA award, here’s who stole the show:

Womenswear Designer of the Year: Vera Wang
Menswear Designer of the Year: John Varvatos
Accessory Designer of the Year: Marc Jacobs for Marc Jacobs
Swarovski’s Perry Ellis Award for Emerging Talent in Womenswear: Derek Lam
Swarovski’s Perry Ellis Award for Emerging Talent in Menswear: Alexandre Plokhov for Cloak
Swarovski’s Perry Ellis Award for Emerging Talent in Accessory Design: Anthony Camargo and Nak Armstrong for Anthony Nak

The following awards were announced prior to the awards ceremony:
Lifetime Achievement Award: Diane von Furstenberg
Board of Directors’ Special Tribute: Norma Kamali
Eugenia Sheppard Award: Gilles Bensimon
International Award: Alber Elbaz
Fashion Influence Award: Kate Moss
