What a Mom

Pop icon Madonna has given her 8-year-old daughter Lourdes a credit card with a $10,000 limit, reports SouthFlorida.com.

Friends say the former Material Girl hopes the gesture will teach Lourdes to appreciate the value of money. 'Minors are not usually allowed credit cards, so she had to pull a few strings to get it issued in Lourdes' name,'' a close friend told the magazine In Touch Weekly.

--Um, maybe she should learn enough math to make change or balance a checkbook first.

You Said

The irony is she wrote a kids book saying money can't buy happiness.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Good idea for normal kids but I doubt Lourdes will ever need to make change, do math, or balance a checkbook. She'll have "people" to do that for her.. kind of like Paris. I'll bet she can't handle basic math either.

Explain to me how this will teach her the value of money. "Mommy, the store says there's no more on here." ????
