Perry's Next Gig

The usually-comedic Matthew Perry will take on a more serious role for an upcoming TNT original movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The former "Friends" star will play an inner-city teacher in 'The Ron Clark Story.' The script is based on the true story a teacher who left the safety of his small-town North Carolina life to accept a job in one of the most challenging educational environments in the country, New York's East Harlem district. Clark's brave risk paid off, however.

In 2000 he was honored for his tireless work and dedication to students from underprivileged backgrounds, as the recipient of Disney's prestigious Teacher of the Year Award.

You Said

Could be good move for him. Many comics make great dramatic actors and his work on The West Wing was fantastic.
