Dillon To Be Honored

Matt Dillon, who starred in the Los Angeles crime drama "Crash" earlier this year, will be honored with a Gotham Award on Nov. 30. Past recipients include Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, John Turturro, Meryl Streep and Don Cheadle.

The 15th annual Gotham Awards, which celebrate independent and New York-set films, also will present six jury-decided awards, including movie of the year.

Dillon, 41, began his film career as a teen star, generally in streetwise, "troubled youth" roles. "We've all watched Matt grow up on camera, but I don't know how many of us have really stopped and taken a long look at the tremendously accomplished body of work that he continues to build," Michelle Byrd, executive director of the Independent Feature Project, which awards the Gothams, said in a recent statement.

--Even now, my all-time favorite Matt Dillon role is Dally from "The Outsiders." "Let's do it for Johnny, man!"

You Said

I just finished reading the outsiders to my children. Afterwards, we watched the movie and I have to say, Matt Dillon's Dally is pretty good!

I had no idea the author was a woman, and that she published it when she was 17!

Remember him in "My Bodyguard"?

Remember him in "My Bodyguard"? I remember him asking the one girl in school, "You wanna go to the movies?"

She said, "Sure."

He said, "Have a nice time."

Over the Edge. Don't forget Over the Edge.

Um, does he look really different or is it just me?

It's that oddball 'do he's got going on. Somewhere between Superman and Fonzie.

*Aaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy*
