Emmy Roundup

Some thoughts on last night's Emmys:

--I was disappointed with Ellen's performance. I didn't think she was very funny.

--The Emmy Idol songs were fantastic. I'm glad the Donald Trump/Megan Mullally duet of the theme song from "Green Acres" won. Seeing the Donald in blue jean overalls was a sight! I also enjoyed hearing famed mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade sing the theme song to "Star Trek." (No, there aren't words to the song...she "Ahhh"'d it.)

--The right Housewife won. I think her acting talent is far superior to her co-stars in general, and specifically on the show. This could be her big year. She has an Emmy under her belt, and early critics think she's destined for an Oscar nom for her role in Transamerica. And, in my opinion, she wins the Best Acceptance Speech award hands down. How cute are she and William H. Macy?

--Glad to see Arrested Development got some wins. It's a highly underrated show.

--I know I'll catch flack for this, but GOODBYE RAYMOND! Enough.

--The following are my picks for Best Dressed:

You Said

I've always liked Felicity Huffman (although I was quietly pulling for Marcia Cross to win).

And William H. Macy just might be the coolest cat alive. I love that guy.

I agree with your dress picks with the exception of Debra Messing's. I think it looks like she did a "Scarlet" on the drapes of a brothel but maybe it's just 'cause I don't like her and her fake laugh. (ref: her appearance on any Ellen show.)Also, yeah, William H. is the man!

I also was routing for Marcia Cross.
Not much more to say since I did not start watching until the Lead actress in a comedy category.

I'm a sap...I loved all the tributes. Also don't like Debra Messing's dress. I found it too busy around the middle AND the bottom. My eyes weren't sure where to look, so they simply looked AWAY.

Raymond is dead. Fuck them. I prefer Desperate Hos or maybe Lost...

Raymond was gay anyway. Gay, gay, gay.

Yes, the right Housewife won! Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks so. I've loved her since Sports Night.
