Mandy Boots the Parentals

The New York Post reports that Mandy Moore kicked her parents out of her house, leaving them homeless empty-nesters.

The Saved! star and her family relocated from Florida three years ago and her parents moved in with her when she bought a luxury Los Angeles property. But the 22-year-old is keen to become independent and is looking forward to having more space to herself.

She explains, "My parents moved in with me, I'm very close with my family, but the time came about a year ago to actually kick my parents out--because it's my house! "So I had to have the awkward talk with them like, 'I think it's about time you guys moved back to Florida,' which is where I grew up.

"Not only did they lose me, they lost my younger brother who was going to live with me as well, and stay in the house. "They became homeless and empty-nesters at the same time."

I don't think there is anything wrong with what she did. She deserves her independence and freedom.

i agree there isn't anything wrong with it. It's awesome when you have the freedom to kick your parents out! You GO GIRL!

Says: hazel at April 21, 2006 12:02 PM

Hmmm...I wonder if they ever kicked her out of their house when she was making her way in showbiz!?!?!?!?!

Says: Nonny at April 21, 2006 03:03 PM

that really doesn't look like Mandy Moore

Says: Cat at April 22, 2006 10:06 AM

she ought to be ashamed of her self those people are the ones who gave her life.how many years did she live at her home i bet it was more than 3 years.shame on you!!!

Says: wvagrl42 at April 22, 2006 10:27 AM

I'm sure that was awkward, but I'm sure they understood.

Says: Tee at April 22, 2006 10:43 AM

Yeah she should be ashamed of herself for wanting to have her own life now that shes an adult. whatever!! why should she be ashamed its her house her money and her entitlement to start her own life. maybe its time her parents supported themselves.

Says: lindsey0122 at April 22, 2006 02:54 PM

after all her parents did for her and the support they gave her, the least the spoiked brat could do was buy them a house close by. if it was ME I adore my parents, Id buy them a house next door, id have my space and still have them close by. mandy is a spoiled brat

Says: katie at April 22, 2006 06:08 PM

hope she at least gave them some money to help get them a nice place.

Says: Arsena at April 22, 2006 06:29 PM

Her parents gave up their home to move to LA so that she could become a celebrity. They risked everything for her and this is how she repaid them? Personally I hope her career tanks! What goes around really does come around. I think she should have bought them a house for repayment for all they have done for her.

Says: Roslyn Sorey at April 22, 2006 10:58 PM

I didn't think she was smart enough to think that breaking news.MOVE OUT ALREADY!POPS!

Says: Samnc at April 23, 2006 12:38 PM

Anyone who thinks Zack Braff is good looking needs to be by herself..lol:)

before you acuse Ms Moore of anything, find out the facts. The fact that it happened over a year ago should clue some in that she didn't leave her parents 'destitute'. She also is taking financial responsibility for her brother. That to me is another way of supporting the family. I would look at it as; Ms Moore's parents now have the freedom to be adults without the pressures of daily taking care of the kids, while knowing that they are financially all set. No mention of how old or young the parents are that have been given an 'early retirement'. Looks like some one just dug this up for publicity, or to bash Ms Moore.

Says: Nancy at April 23, 2006 04:12 PM

You know she bought them a house. If she did not then she is shameful and a brat, but I am sure she is taking care of them. I would.

Says: SUSIE at April 24, 2006 04:59 AM

Is that really Mandy Moore??
