What a Bummer

Wham! reunion? It's a no-no.

George Michael has denied claims that he is to perform with Andrew Ridgeley at his final two concerts next month.

Reports suggested that the popstar was planning to reunite with his former Wham! bandmate as one of a "series of surprises" at his retirement shows at Earls Court.

But his spokesperson dismissed the rumors, telling The Mirror: "We don't know anything about it."

Bond Theme

It's a double-O duet.

Alicia Keys and Jack White have recorded the theme song for the new James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace," producers said Wednesday.

The R&B singer and White Stripes frontman have teamed up for "Another Way to Die," the first duet to be chosen as a Bond theme. Producers said White has written and produced the song and also plays drums, as well as singing with 11-time Grammy winner Keys.

Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said they were "delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artists as Jack and Alicia, who were inspired by our film to join together their extraordinary talents in creating a unique sound for 'Quantum of Solace.' "

Previous Bond themes have been performed by the likes of Paul McCartney, Duran Duran and Madonna, and each new film's tune always produces intense speculation.

Kanye TV?

HBO remains hell-bent on finding a way to showcase the talents of Kanye West.

Long before the writers’ strike began last November, the network began discussing whether to team the rapper with executive producer Larry Charles (Curb Your Enthusiasm) for a yet-to-be-named, single-camera series that would follow the busy life of the Grammy-winning artist and his relationship with family and friends. One key insider says HBO is now looking for a writer — and some creative inspiration — before moving forward with the project: “We need to figure out how to capture Kanye in the right way.”

Nutbag

Meet Spencer Taylor. The Michigan man, 20, was arrested early yesterday morning for allegedly trying to steal Batman posters and other collectibles from a theater showing "The Dark Knight."

As can be seen in the mug shot, Taylor went to the Three Rivers Cinema multiplex in costume as the Joker. According to cops, he was charged with larceny and malicious destruction of property, and had to pose for booking photos in and out of character.

Wino Hospitalized

Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse was taken to the Royal College Hospital in London Monday, her rep confirmed .

"Amy Winehouse suffered a reaction to medication at home this evening and was taken to the hospital," her rep explained Monday. "Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow."

A London Ambulance Service rep said: "She was taken unwell after an emergency call was received. There is no further comment to make on her health status. All I can tell you is that the patient is now in hospital being treated."

Eyewitnesses saw police escort the 24-year-old in a wheelchair from her London apartment, according to SplashNewsOnline.

Godfather Bono

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have apparently chosen Bono to be the godfather of their twins. After the the twins entered the world, Brangelina spent the week at Bono's place in the South of France. That's where they asked him to be the godfather and he immediately accepted.

A source told The Mirror, "They have been friends for years. Brad is a massive U2 fan and told Bono how much he admired him when they were introduced at a party a few years back. Since then, they've become very close, which Brad is thrilled about. Angelina is inspired by Bono's humanitarian work and gets on with his wife Ali Hewson. Ali's given Angelina some clothes from her ethical clothing range Edun."

The Last Lecturer Dies

Randy Pausch, the Carnegie Mellon computer-sciences professor who became an Internet sensation for his upbeat and funny "last lecture" while battling terminal pancreatic cancer, died Friday at his Virginia home at the age of 47, USA Today reports.

In the September 2007 lecture, entitled "Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," an upbeat Pausch commented on everything from education and leadership to dating and his love of Star Trek. The speech – part of the "Last Lecture" series in which speakers imagine they're giving their final lecture before dying – proved very popular on YouTube, leading to a best-selling book and Pausch appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show and being named Person of the Week by ABC News With Charles Gibson. J.J. Abrams, director of the Star Trek reboot, even gave Pausch a speaking cameo in the upcoming movie.

Pausch is survived by his wife, Jai, and their three children, his mother and sister.

If you haven't heard his lecture, click above and watch it. Truly great.

No Surprise Here

Paris Hilton went for it just after her stint in the slammer and "The Hills" hottie Audrina Patridge had her turn following the release of those scandalous snaps. But now it's Kim Kardashian's turn to strip in Sin City.

The sexy socialite has been recruited as a guest Pussycat Doll and will make her debut at their Las Vegas lounge on Aug. 15.

We're told to expect pole performances, flesh-flashing and dirty dancing.

"I'm so flattered that I'm considered sexy; I love it," she recently said.

Top Gun 2?

Movie bosses want to bring Top Gun back to the big screen, but only if Tom Cruise says yes according to The Sun.

A script outline has been written, but the sequel depends on Cruise, 46, saying yes.

An insider said: “The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor — and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.”

All I have to say is, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" If Tom is that desperate, he should just quit acting altogether. Let's seek solace in some of my fave Top Gun clips:

Cool!

Sir Elton John has been honored in just about every possible way and now he is being immortalized with his own ice cream. Cool treat kings Ben & Jerry have created a new flavor that will commemorate his first ever concert in Vermont.

The Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road flavor is inspired by the Candle in the Wind hitmaker’s first ever concert in Vermont on July 21, 2008.

The flavor is described as an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks. The limited edition taste treat will be sold from July 18-25th.

Elton John joins Phish, Jerry Garcia and Dave Matthews, who have all had Ben & Jerry flavors named after them.

Mamma Mia

I'm one of the few folks who chose to see Mamma Mia this weekend instead of The Dark Knight. I'm sure that doesn't surprise any of you readers who know me.

In a nutshell, I enjoyed it. But, I walked away convinced it could have been better. Some of my thoughts:

--The scenery is amazing! I wanted to hop on a plane and go to Greece immediately.

--Was it me, or did everyone in the movie look like they shopped at Anthropologie? Even the furnishings for the Inn looked like they were from there.

--Three cheers for Amanda Seyfried who did a great job as Sophie. She's come a long way from Mean Girls. Can't wait to see her back on Big Love.

--Christine Baranksi and Julie Walters are fabulous as Tanya and Rosie. Frankly, they outshine Streep. Baranski looks like a million bucks in this movie.

--Oh, Meryl. God, I love you. You are the paramount actress of my time. But, DAMN! You can't sing! You redeemed yourself with "The Winner Takes it All," but you're just not equipped for a musical.

--Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard both do a nice job as Harry and Bill. Colin's impeccable British humor and timing is just what the doctor ordered in certain parts of the movie.

--Now on to Pierce. Seriously casting people: did he NOT sing for you before you cast him? He is just plain awful--awful to the point that AV and I were laughing hysterically at the mere sound of him. Now, I wasn't complaining when he had his shirt off, but even that couldn't distract me from his wailing. They should have switched Firth and Brosnan's characters. A Meryl-Firth love affair is much more believable than one with Mr. Bond.

--If you are a musical traditionalist, I'm not sure you'll like it. It is over the top--almost to the point of campy. You know how in The Sound of Music or West Side Story they make it seem perfectly normal for people to be singing instead of speaking? Well, in this people come out of the water and start dancing, etc. They almost make fun of the movie-musical at times. But, it totally works. That was one of the most entertaining things about it.

--Still, I'm happy. I love that I'm living in a time when the movie-musical is making a return. Sure, it isn't quite the same as the good old days, but it is a start. What I don't like is the feeling that they need to cast big name stars who can't sing. A few amazing no-names are just fine with me.

Just my two cents. Let me know what you thought!

Brady Not Pleased

A Brady Quinn shirtless photo on a gay dating web site has the Cleveland Browns QB upset. Quinn is not happy about a shirtless picture of him showing up on a site that specializes in men finding men.

The gay dating website shows Quinn, the former first round NFL draft pick and now a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in a photograph on a cell phone. He can be seen wearing shorts without a shirt, staring into the camera. And a report from TMZ.com claims that Quinn was unaware that his picture was being utilized for a dating website.

The back up quarterback has sent a lawyer to get the website to take the picture down. A blog called Gay Socialites has the snap here.

The Cleveland Browns have even issued a statement saying that Quinn was unaware that his likeness was being utilized. The Cleveland Browns start training camp later this month where Quinn will vye for the starting QB position. Quinn signed a five-year deal with the Browns worth a reported $20.2 million, with $7.5 million guaranteed.

This warranted a statement from the Cleveland Browns?

SJP Removed Her Mole?

An unairbrushed photo of Sarah Jessica Parker, 43, emerged at the 79th MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium in New York on Tuesday, in which her beauty mark is noticeably missing, the Huffington Post reported Wednesday.

Last month at the MTV Movie awards, Parker's mole was clearly visible. “It’s true. She did have it done," a friend of Parker tells Usmagazine.com. "There was no reason for it, it wasn’t because she didn’t like her mole, and it wasn’t because of any medical reason, it was simply because she was in the mood to have it removed. That’s all.”

The Huffington Post pointed out that The New York Observer's Rex Reed made a cruel remark about Parker's mole in his harsh review of Sex and the City: The Movie. "There's nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker, that couldn't be cured by wart-removal surgery. That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up, and in the full-length movie version of Sex and the City it's so distracting you can't concentrate on anything else," Reed wrote. "It's not a beauty mark. I guess you can't tell a co-producer anything, but listen up, girl. At this point, you would make a wonderful Halloween witch."

Bret and Ambre Split Up

Poison frontman Bret Michaels and actress Ambre Lake made it official today: Their tour together ends here.

“It’s really sad,” says Lake, who explained that conflicting schedules ultimately worked against the couple. “Bret and I truly love each other and support each other. But with him touring so much and me trying to travel and work, we just didn’t have a lot of time to dedicate to our relationship. It was mutual. We’re both bummed.”

In a release from VH1, a rep for the rock star confirmed: “[Bret] and Ambre Lake really tried to make it work and although they still remain close friends, between his tour line-up and her work schedule there’s no time for a relationship.” Lake adds, “It’s a lot of pressure. We were dating and taking it day by day. We never put a label on us saying, ‘We are boyfriend-girlfriend.’ But when a budding romance is happening like that and you don’t have a lot of time to see each other, you’re being pulled in so many directions.”

She also says there were no third parties involved. “Absolutely not,” says Lake. “I’ve never thought that he was seeing other people or anything like that.”

Lake, who recently moved to L.A. from her native Chicago to pursue her career, also made it clear that she completely backs Michaels’s decision to take the show on the road for a third installment. This time it’s called Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels and the women vying for his affection will follow the rocker on a month-long tour across the country.

“Third time’s the charm!” says Lake, who plans to watch the new season and is happy to be a sounding board for Michaels. “I can’t stress enough that I support his decision. He’s going to take it on the road, and that’s where he spends the majority of his life. What a great concept.”

How will she cope with the heartbreak in the meantime? “I’ve been surrounding myself with close friends and I’m visiting my family next week,” says Lake. “And working out is very therapeutic for me.” It also helps that she and Michaels will remain great friends. “Our relationship isn’t over — we’re going to be friends forever,” she says. “We’re still going to talk, we’re still going to support each other. I’m going to his concert in Atlanta in a couple weeks. I’ll hug him like I always do. And then we’ll laugh and hang with Big John.”

Wicked News!

The wildly successful Broadway musical Wicked is going to be making the transition to the big screen. Much like Chicago, Hairspray and most recently Mama Mia! before it, Wicked is in the process of being adapted into a movie. This new production will be handled by Marc Platt Productions for Universal Pictures.

Marc Platt has extended his contract with Universal Pictures for five years, according to Variety. Marc Platt Productions currently has several projects of interest to theatre plans in the works, including a film version of the international hit Wicked, a remake of the 1973 Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice film “Jesus Christ Superstar” and a new motion picture about the life of the late composer George Gershwin.

Universal Pictures production president Donna Langley told the industry paper, “Our goal now is absolutely to make the Wicked film, but much like Judy Craymer wouldn’t give up screen rights to Mamma Mia! until the stage show had reached its pinnacle, Marc and Stephen Schwartz are very mindful of the right timing. But we’re dying to do it.” Platt told Variety that he and Wicked co-producer David Stone are currently in “early movie talks” with the studio. Winnie Holzman, who penned the Tony-nominated book for Wicked, will write the film’s screenplay. No casting has been mentioned.

Another Trainwreck I'll Watch

Bobby Brown is returning to reality TV in August as he teams up with Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady) and Carnie Wilson (Wilson Phillips) for the CMT show Outsider's Inn, a spin-off of sorts from the first season of Gone Country in which the three reunite to run a bed and breakfast.

McCormick has called the program "a mix of the Bob Newhart Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Simple Life and The Office." McCormick is the innkeeper, Carnie Wilson is the cook, and Brown – of course – is the entertainment coordinator.

Khloe Kardashian Sentenced to Jail

Khloe Kardashian, the youngest of the Kardashian sisters, has been sentenced to three days in Los Angeles County jail for violating probation following a DUI arrest.

"She admitted to failing to complete [roadside cleanup duty] and enroll in an alcohol education class," said L.A. City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan on Monday.

Kardashian, 24, has until July 18 to begin serving her sentence. She was sentenced on July 3. "Khloe is ready and willing to serve out her sentence, no matter how long and where, and have this resolved," her rep said.

I wonder if she'll film the show while in the slammer.

Hef's Fourth

Watch out, "Girls Next Door." It seems Hugh Hefner has found a fourth lady in his life.

Anna Faris stars in the upcoming "The House Bunny" (which features the men’s magazine mogul and his three busty blondes), and has since been spending quite a bit of time at the iconic Playboy Mansion. "I was just there yesterday. Hef has been an incredible support system; it’s thrilling to see him act," Faris told said last week, adding that she’s been made a real-life honorary girlfriend.

The bubbly blonde also told us to keep our eyes out for the September issue of Playboy (no confirmation that it is a centerfold), and although Anna sweated it out to be picture-perfect for the part, being a girlfriend didn’t involve too much mental stress. "I did very little to emotionally prepare — I worked out, got hair extensions and bought lots of padded bras," she said.

But speaking of Hef and his girlfriends, it seems things weren't quite so sunny at the annual Fourth of July bash at the mansion. According to some partygoers, there was a bit of a tiff among the girls and Kendra wasn't speaking to Holly or Bridget. "They didn't even exchange glances," an eyewitness said. "I don't know what happened, but Kendra made sure to keep her distance."

Settlement!

A little more than one week after it began, the explosively nasty divorce trial of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook has come to a sudden end.

After a night of intense negotiations, the warring exes reached a settlement Thursday morning at 6:15 a.m., a source close to the case confirmed. Some details of the deal are expected to be revealed in court later in the day.

Brinkley and Cook were both spotted in the same Long Island hotel Wednesday night as lawyers for both sides worked furiously to put the finishing touches on a deal they had been negotiating throughout the day.

Tony Serenades Jess

Jessica Simpson isn't avoiding her 28th birthday on Thursday – she's already started celebrating.

The singer – joined by close friends and family – indulged in her favorite cupcake flavor, red velvet, from Crumbs bakery. For dinner, Jessica and on-again beau Tony Romo went to Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas, where they met up with her pregnant sister Ashlee and husband Pete Wentz.

At one point, Ashlee and Jessica got on stage to sing with The Copycats, a cover band that was playing. The band serenaded Jessica with "Happy Birthday." Following dinner, Jessica and Romo hit Key Club in West Hollywood to see Steel Panther (formerly known as Metal Skool).

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback even tried his hand at singing the Guns n' Roses hit "Sweet Child O' Mine" to Jessica and the crowd.

No Chance of ABBA Reunion

Two members of ABBA have said that there is no chance the Swedish pop legends will ever play music together again.

Both Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson quashed any hint of a musical reunion, despite the four band members getting together this weekend at the Swedish premiere of 'Mamma Mia', the film featuring 22 of their songs.

ABBA have not performed live in public since 1986. "[There is] simply no motivation to regroup," Ulvaeus told the Sunday Telegraph. "We would like people to remember us as we were, young, exuberant and full of ambition."

Andersson added: "You know what pop music is. It is there for the time it actually happens. We were absolutely dead sure it would be the same for us."

Ok, I won't lie. I'm pumped to see this movie.

"Crocodile Dundee" star Paul Hogan challenged Australian tax authorities Friday to track him down in the United States after a newspaper report that he was under investigation for tax evasion.

The 68-year-old actor has repeatedly denied that he dodged taxes. The Australian national newspaper reported that Australian tax authorities had asked for help from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service in obtaining Hogan's banking records. Four companies related to Hogan have been ordered to hand over documents, it said, citing court documents.

"Come and get me," Hogan said with a grin, He spoke to Australia's Ten Network television outside his Santa Barbara, Calif. mansion, delivering an obscenity-laced statement addressed to the Australian Taxation Office. Hogan is fighting the IRS involvement, arguing that it is being used to obtain documents that Australian officials could not lawfully obtain, his Australian lawyer David Rydon told the newspaper.

Hogan said he was returning to Australia in September to make a movie. "I'll be arrested the minute I land on the shore, of course, but I have a gun; so be warned," he joked.

He's Out!

He's out at home! Yankee superstar Alex Rodriguez's marriage is kaput, sources said. A-Rod's wife, Cynthia, has been shacked up with rocker Lenny Kravitz in Paris.

The couple's two daughters - 3-year-old Natasha and 2-month-old Ella - remained in Miami, sources said. The stunning news emerged a day after revelations that Alex Rodriguez has been paying late-night visits to Madonna's Upper West Side apartment. The game of musical celebrity beds has effectively ended the randy Rodriguez's already-shaky marriage, even though divorce papers have not been filed, sources said.

Cynthia Rodriguez, 34, has been in Paris for at least the past four days visiting Grammy-winner Kravitz. C-Rod was seen outside the 44-year-old Kravitz's pad in the romantic City of Light as recently as Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, A-Rod has been in New York with the Bronx Bombers, reading headlines about his numerous visits to Madonna's Upper West Side apartment. A-Rod may have gone to Madonna's New York pad as early as one night after leaving his wife's side in Miami following the April 21 birth of their daughter Ella.

Watts Pregs Again

Naomi Watts’ family is about to get another addition.

The actress, 39, has entered her second trimester with her second baby. But don't expect a huge announcement: When she was pregnant last year with her first child, her beau, Liev Schreiber, 40, didn’t confirm it until he casually told Conan O’Brien, “Yes, I’m going to be a dad.”

The couple — who met on the set of the 2006 drama The Painted Veil and have homes in NYC and L.A. — welcomed son Alexander in July 2007.

I Like It

Alec Baldwin - who would prefer to see carriage horses euthanized than plying their trade in Manhattan - led a recent protest to eliminate the industry. Now he's in deep doo-doo with the Horse & Carriage Association of New York. Yesterday, the group "honored" him by naming the diapers attached behind the steeds to catch manure "Baldwin Bags."

Madge and A-Rod?

New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez was at Madonna's Central Park West apartment in New York City shortly after his wife gave birth to their second daughter.

One source said that Rodriguez, 32, visited the singer, 49, possibly as early as the night after his wife gave birth. Rodriquez, reportedly flanked by a child from the Make-a-Wish Foundation, wouldn't answer questions about their friendship Tuesday.

A source said that Madonna has been hosting late-night visits from the $28-million-a-year Rodriguez at her spacious home and he would sneak out "as late as midnight." Rodriguez also attended Madonna's concert at Roseland in NYC on April 30 – just nine days after his wife-of-six-years Cynthia gave birth to daughter Ella in Miami on April 21. (They also have a 3-year-old, Natasha.)

"He was very chummy with her after her Roseland concert," a source said. Madonna has leaned on Rodriguez as her seven-year marriage to Guy Ritchie (who arrived ringless and grim-faced in NYC Monday) has stalled out. The singer sat in Rodriguez's seats at a Yankees game on June 22 (it was the first time she ever was photographed at a Yankees game) and her son Rocco, 7, sported Yankees gear on June 25 while playing in Central Park.

Both Madonna and Ritchie, 39, have consulted attorneys in London. She has reportedly consulted the same high-profile divorce attorney who worked with Paul McCartney and Prince Charles.
