Babs Says "No"

She's one of, if not THE, biggest icon in the gay community, but the great Barbra Streisand is showing no love for the groundbreaking comedy Will & Grace. Producers of the show - an Emmy winner in its first year and a pioneer in bringing the gay community into primetime - approached the diva about guest starring on the last episode of the series, but the Oscar-winning actress-singer has, alas, refused to appear on the show, according to web site Hollywood.com.

After nine years and countless kudos, the hit NBC show will be ending its run in May. Producer Max Mutchnick had hoped to land Streisand to play the sister of sharp-tongued, sauced-up Karen Walker, played by Emmy winner Megan Mullally. According to the Hollywood.com report, Mutchnick said, "We made one last attempt to get Barbra Streisand to come on the show as Karen's sister, but there was no love there for us."

With Streisand out of the running, the producers reportedly turned to Oscar winner Meryl Streep to fill the role, but she also declined the offer. The role of Karen's sister eventually went to Golden Globe winner Bernadette Peters, and Mullally couldn't be more delighted with the choice. She's quoted as saying, "Bernadette is amazing."

You Said

oooh, I love Bernadette peters! and out of the 3 of them, I think she is the best choice. They should have gone to her first.
